Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Veronica Brackett. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Veronica , appreciate you joining us today. Can you recount a story of an unexpected problem you’ve faced along the way?
Having the confidence that I could do it! As well as learning how to handle the stress and learning to how manage the backend of things.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
After high school, I went to Ray-Vogue for Fashion design it was a two year program.. Then I worked at mass production company as a Pattern grader (making different size patterns for production) and I also worked a few years later as a pattern grader for a Designer who did high end separates, along with sewing from my home for my own clients. In between all of that I became a single parent, so eventually I did my custom work full time to be more able to care for my daughter. As she got older I started working for a fabric store. Working at the fabric I got the opportunity along with a few other employees to put on an accessory demonstration. Then requests came from customers for more information through classes. As time went on I realized that I loved teaching and sharing my experiences information that I learned from sewing experiences..
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
The lessons I’ve had to unlearn have been that it’s not too late to pursue a goal or a dream. Also I have learned that your business doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s. I also didn’t give myself enough credit for my life experience. Which I now know and understand has great value.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
When quarantine hit, and the place where I had been teaching my classes from for the past twenty years closed down, I had no idea how I was going to survive and I felt like I wasn’t qualified to do anything else. I was getting calls from my students who were not only concerned about my well-being but they also expressed their need to get back to their sewing classes . They really encouraged and inspired me and gave me even more inspiration and hope.
