We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Veronica Berry a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Veronica, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you take us back in time to the first dollar you earned as a creative – how did it happen? What’s the story?
The first time I earned money as an actor was on the set of Mortal Combat. I started as an extra. Fell in love with acting and then proceeded to enroll into acting school.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I was modeling and came across a script at my agents office. I picked it up and started reading the lines. After that, I wanted to be anywhere near a set. I proceeded with acting classes and casting workshops which led me to my first role opposite Vivica Fox in Father of Lies.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
A creative path is charted either by trusting the vision or trusting the process. With that being said my goal has been achieved. I wanted to be a working actress, which I am. I do commercials, industrials, voice-overs, and theatrical and episodic projects.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Being able to be creative is the greatest reward. Whether it’s an audtion or on set, being able to be creative is something I do not take for granted and is something that I will do as long as I live.
