We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Veronda Bellamy. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Veronda below.
Hi Veronda, thanks for joining us today. Can you share a story about the kindest thing someone has done for you and why it mattered so much or was so meaningful to you?
The kindest thing anyone has ever done for me was Dr. Maya Angelou saying yes to my podcast interview. I ended up being one of her final interviews before she transitioned. We had the opportunity to discuss the impact of womanhood. She ended the interview by saying “A woman can do anything.” Her YES was the kindest thing ever done because it gave me and my audience a chance to hear from such a big voice in our world that normalized and also encouraged women to keep going – we can do hard things AND be happy. My new message is Happiness is a Choice. I would like to speak this to your audience from a mental health and psychology standpoint.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
became a Therapist & Business Strategist after spending over 10 years in Corporate America. I transitioned first into becoming a Mental Health Therapist in 2013 and began Business Strategy sessions in 2019. My background affords me a unique approach to helping people solve their concerns – whether it is learning how to matriculate trauma and depression or mindset roadblocks that are stopping them from achieving success or if they need to re-strategize their business to achieve more revenue – I love serving in all of these capacities.
I offer Therapy, Life Coaching, and Business Strategy Services in both a 1:1 and group setting. We also have a new premium candle that we are offering called “Happiness” because no matter what you are faced with, no matter how tragic, you can still choose happiness. I am an avid candle lover and spent much time curating a candle that I love – 100% Soy Candle, including Hints of Rose with on over 30 hour burn time – the scent literally lingers in your space.
My eclectic system and approach is what sets me apart from everyone else in my industry. I am a sought after professional and my C.A.T.E. System really does afford my clients major success in their lives. My focus is to help them understand their trauma so that they are able to move forward freely through the use of my C.A.T.E. System.
For business owners, my C.A.S.I .E. system is exactly what you need to reach your next level in business, whether that is starting the business or seeking your first 6 figures in business, my C.A.S.I .E. system will get you there.
I am also a Christian and allow my faith to inform my practice with my clients.
My most proud accomplishment is being a Mom and Wife to my family. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to think that God was mindful enough of me to have given me 2 little girls to nurture. I have an amazing husband who is extremely supportive of everything that I do. My support system is strong. I am grateful for that I encourage my clients to ensure their system is strong as well. Having been a subject matter expert for Real Simple, Essence Magazine, Medium, Fox Soul, ABC, and NBC to name a few, I am here to serve you!

Can you talk to us about how your funded your firm or practice?
My business was self-funded. I started my business with my own money. I decided on my business plan, I got an office, I hired a few staff who volunteered with me for a little while and then we switched them to paid positions, and I pitched my business to the biggest referral source I have ever had yet. I was told our referrals would take about a month. I thank them for the connection and get to my office and we had already received our first referral. My business grew from 0 to over 2000 patients in less than 2 years.
You don’t have to have loads of capital. Your faith and action will lead you where you need to go, but you must be clear.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Early on in business, I expected everyone to support me. I thought just because I made a post on social media my friends would buy my services and products. I was so far from the truth with that. Over the years I come to know AND respect that my services and products are not for my friends but for my audience, my clients, those I serve. These people are not the same as family and friends so I treat everyone respectively and accordingly.
