We were lucky to catch up with Vernon Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.
Vernon, appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I enjoy having a night out and having a good time. During my nights out, I realized that my favorite part was eating. At this moment I recognized that I was a foodie. Being that I came from a Caribbean background, I always leaned more towards African/Caribbean inspired meals. This motivated me to create Karibe. Named after the Caribbean and pronounced Cari-Bae, Karibe provides kitchenware while highlighting foodies that we believe represents the Karibbean Kulture. I am confident that Karibe will be a successful brand due to the foundations that the company is built on. Our approach is completely different compared to other related brands and it shows in the response we receive from other foodies.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I would consider myself a humble man from the Garden State. Here at Karibe, we provide quality kitchenware, promote the Karibbean Kulture and so much more that is currently in development. What separates Karibe from other brands is our company principles. Check out our website and you will be able to feel the difference. My only disappointment is not starting sooner.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Karibe was founded in the year of 2018. Fast forward to the year of 2022 and we have experienced a rollercoaster ride. Pandemic, global shutdowns, supply chain challenges, uncertainty from consumer spending and we have been capable of weathering the storm while seeing growth within the company. With our ability to stay consistent and maintain our structure, shows examples of our resilience and the confidence we have in our business model.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
We prioritize customer satisfaction. Whenever we get a sale, engagement on our social channels or any contact inquiries, we make it a point to solve the customer needs. This builds trust, which is pivotal for a new brand and has been beneficial when building our reputation.
