We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Verlincia Hill. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Verlincia below.
Verlincia, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My mission is to get youth, people from inner cities, and all the people closest to me to continuously show up as their highest self. I want to continue to encourage everyone to use their god given talents and gifts. Everyone needs positive reinforcement.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am from Houston, Tx born and raised. I studied Business Administration and Management at Texas Southern University. I come from what was considered a poverty stricken neighborhood, but I consider myself as someone who beat the odds. I was a teen mom and I chose to not let the things of my past define my future. My business is geared towards helping the average person muster up the courage to achieve their goals. I am a mindset coach and the positive reinforcement that’s needed to get you started. I’m most proud of the businesses that I’ve had the luxury of playing a crucial role in their start-up. The purpose of my business is to bridge the gap between you and your aspirations. I have written an ebook and I will start to take consultations, and sell merchandise as well.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
The beauty of selling digital products is there is little to no start-up cost. You create everything digitally and sell them at your desired rate. The most expensive part of funding my business was the marketing and getting the proper paperwork filed with the state. I used income from my 9-5 invest in myself and my business.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
After reading books like The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, and Start Something that Matters by Blake Mycoskie. My mindset almost immediately changed. I listen to David Shands Social Proof podcast and Dr. Eric Thomas speeches via YouTube. Music and interviews by the late great Nipsey Hussle. Also the teachings of brothers 19Keys and Pop Darby on instagram. These books, videos, speakers, and speeches really helped shape how I view life and all that it has to offer.
