Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Verina Zonise. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Verina , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

After going through a very tumultuous divorce, I did not recognize myself looking in the mirror. I was back at home with my parents and my two babies and now in the basement. I was also mentally in the basement, it really could get no lower. Baths became my comfort time and while reading one of my favorite books in the bible (Esther) my spark came back. What I discovered was the preparation to meet the King was actually a beauty ritual. This ritual that started physically but what it did mentally and emotionally for the candidates was life changing. That’s where my business Zo SkinTherapy began. Using my knowledge from cosmetology school and now this new inspiration from my new best friend Esther, I created a cleanser and serum to get my skin back to “normal’. My sister circle took notice and I started making products for them. What I noticed however more than just the skin improving, was their confidence. I knew that was my real mission, to give women especially those having basement experiences of their own, the confidence back to face the world…starting with beauty first

Verina , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I’ve always been an advocate and lover of all things beauty. I can recount as young as the third grade giving makeovers, doing hair, teaching my friends how to walk in heels; so it was a natural progression for me to attend cosmetology school and from there licensing in makeup and natural skincare. My skincare line started in the basement of my parents home and now has evolve to a full service luxury line. I help women get their confidence back with clear, even, blemish free skin. I like to consider my self a transformation maven who not only provides products I also offer coaching services to assist women in making transformations starting with beauty first. Teaching Beauty Rituals is the first step in seeing quick results. My products are chemical free and specializes in acne, hyperpigmentation, and smoothing. I love knowing that Zo SkinTherapy really works and works FAST and is having a major positive change to the self esteem of young girls and women across the USA. Everything my company and myself do is in the spirit of excellence and understanding the true underlying need of our clients who become sisters. Life gives us many challenges- Skin and Self Esteem should not be one of them. Having a beautiful business to pass along to my daughter where she can make a serious impact on the beauty industry is something Im really proud of!

I love sending personalized emails where I encourage the Zo SkinTherapy Society to respond to them. That way I can engage directly and foster brand loyalty through a small touches of real interaction. Everything is so automated I feel it makes brands cold.

Dr. Avis Jones-DeWeevers business mentorship program has had the single most significant impact in my management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy. One of the best books I’ve read to assist me with managing my finances ( I discovered through my mentorship) Profit 1st for Minority Business Enterprises by Susanne Mariga
