We were lucky to catch up with Vera Louise recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Vera, thanks for joining us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
My life changed when everything I trusted fell apart. A relationship ended without warning, leaving me hollow, anxious, and unsure of who I was. A friend hugged me that day and said I felt empty. She was right.
When the weight became unbearable, I moved. I ran badly—stopping, starting, breathing through the pain. I woke before the sun and moved my body in the dark, waiting for the light. Fitness became my way back to myself.
In that season, movement and mindfulness became my healing. They showed me that true wellness is more than physical strength—it’s body, mind, and heart. That understanding reshaped my life and led me onto the path of holistic fitness.

Vera, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I entered this industry after one of the hardest moments of my life. A divorce forced me to take an honest look at who I was and where I was going—and it ultimately changed my trajectory.
I now offer both custom-designed and plug-and-play fitness programs rooted in a holistic approach, creating a well-rounded wellness experience. I address the whole person: body, mind, and heart. I believe that anyone, at any stage of life, has the capacity to change.
What sets me apart from other fitness professionals is my deep curiosity and commitment to solving whatever challenges my clients face. I lead with compassion, courage, and love.
The cornerstones of holistic fitness are Movement, Mindset, Heart-Space, and Integration. Movement is personal—unique to each individual. When we honor our bodies in real time and embrace these foundations, we create sustainable wellness patterns that support us throughout life.
Strong in body. Strong in mind. Strong in heart.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Beyond certifications and textbooks, what really matters in this field is how you show up for people. Yes, keep learning. Grow your knowledge. That will always matter.
But listen—really listen. Be curious. Pay attention. When someone sits in front of you, they’re often telling you what they want, while quietly revealing what they need. Your job is to notice. To care enough to connect the dots.
This work demands integrity. And kindness. Because for many people, saying “I need help with my health” takes more courage than we realize. They’re not just asking for a workout—they’re trusting you with something tender. Treat it that way.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Your reputation isn’t built on how hard you push people. It’s built on how you make them feel.
Do they feel seen? Heard? Safe enough to show up exactly as they are—right now? Let them know they matter. That they’re cared for, accepted, and supported—just as they are. No one has to be perfect to begin. There’s no judgment in what point from which they start.
And the beautiful truth is this: it’s never too late. No matter your age, your past, or how far you think you’ve drifted, change is always possible. It starts with gentle steps, with showing up for yourself today, not waiting for “someday.”
Everyone starts where they are. When you create a space that honors that, you don’t just help people move their bodies—you help them reconnect with their hearts. That’s how trust grows, and real community blooms.
