We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Vera Lotus Onatah . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Vera Lotus below.
Hi Vera, thanks for joining us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
Oftentimes we reflect on what we wish our parents had done differently or the perceived mistakes that they made. One of the things that I feel that my parents did right was instill the art of studying and learning from a very young age. They made sure that I understood the importance of reading and applying the knowledge that I gained through exploring different topics into my every day life. Because of that lesson I found a passion for studying and it corresponds deeply with my personal moon placement in the sign of Sagittarius. That singular lesson has helped me expand my knowledge based on different esoteric astrological holistic and spiritual concepts that I use in my practice with clients as well as my own personal development.

Vera Lotus , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
It was in 2015 that you can say I underwent my spiritual awakening.
I was working in a job that required me to give a lot of myself externally, while learning how to navigate the challenges of being a working mom, wife, and a woman encountering the metamorphosis of embracing her spiritual self.
I under went a health condition that required me to take time off from work, and it was at that time that I really started to do self care from a holistic and spiritual standpoint.
As I dove deeper into the external ailments that were taking shape in my physical life I begin to study how holistic remedies could counteract the physical discomforts.
So, I cultivated a holistic exercise and nutrition regimen in order to release myself from the chemical medications that I had been placed on.
The benefits that I began to receive furthered my studies into exploring the spiritual component of the physical ailments, and how dealing with the unexpressed emotions and thoughts could lead to the rejuvenation of my mind and body.
The first recipient of any of the practices that I now share with my clients was myself.
Seeing the transformation that begun to take shape in my life others started to inquire about the techniques that I was performing because they wanted to experience that level of restoration in their own lives.
I begin hosting accountability group challenges through my social media platform while showcasing the backstory of my own journey.
In 2017 I became a certified barre instructor with a focus on mind body alienation that allows me to guide others through physical movements that assist them with tuning into their physical and emotional body.
For three years I taught two sessions a week at my local gym until we experienced the extended hiatus and I transition into hosting virtual barre classes.
In 2021 I received my certification in elemental healing with a emphasis in crystal therapy and soul work and cultivated a personal mentorship that works with individuals on re-connecting to the spiritual nature in order to strengthen and openly express their intuitive abilities.
I often look back with so much appreciation for the challenge I received with my own spiritual and physical health because it led me to this place in my life where I can openly express myself and live a life full of peaceful prosperity while inspiring others to be their authentic selves daily.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Being authentic. And sure that might be a overstated concept but it’s often something that many people find difficult. For me the more authentic I am about my experiences and challenges the more people are able to see how my services can help them gain improvement in their lives. When I share how I applied a technique to my own life and the outcome of the process it showcases others that I utilize and stand by what I offer.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Practicing self care. Working with others on matters that can be emotionally challenging requires me to handle my own emotional health regularly. It allows me to be a adequate space holder without allowing my own tribulations to be factored into the clients work.
