We recently connected with Venisha Arnold and have shared our conversation below.
Venisha, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
A woman who never gave up. The name of my nonprofit is Persistence is The Key. I choose that name because I live & breath Persistence. Whether its fitness or my career or even other goals that I have, I get it done! I would even say that I am so serious about my life & my goals that my motto for my nonprofit is “NEVER SETTLE Persistence is The Key!” The reason for that is, I am the type of person that if I don’t get exactly what I want I will pass on ALL of it & that goes for Everything. Point. Blank. Period. You can do anything & you can have anything but you must remember “Persistence is The Key!”
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
A few years back after speaking to a group of high school seniors the idea for Persistence is The Key was born. I launched my nonprofit in October of 2017. I’ve done giveaways of laptops & school supplies & I plan to do more, I also started a podcast of the same name in 2020. My guests so far are all Boss Ladies! These women were candidates for the US Senate & the US Congress, one young lady was the managing partner of a global law firm and one young lady is currently running for Mayor of Houston and my very first guest is a state judge. My guests are all examples of using persistence and accomplishing your goals. I am in the process of getting more guests but go listen Right Now to the guests I have interviewed you will be inspired!
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
The Bible which is THE Guide for Life & 48 Laws of Power
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
Self-Funded. The thing about a nonprofit it doesn’t take much to start but it depends on what you want to do with your nonprofit. I started out with education and I expanded to include humanitarian issues and of course my podcast. I also started a scholarship fund in memoriam to my late Father. Again it depends on your goals for your nonprofit. Also it depends on what type of nonprofit you set up whether its a public charity, a foundation, or a social advocacy group you got to determine what you want you to do first & go from there.
