Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Velle Kimble. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Velle , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
My parents play a tremendous role in the person that I am today without them there’s no me. Growing up I always had dreams of being a star. No matter what career I pursued my mother and father always supported me, even when things didn’t always workout in my favor. Having 2 hardworking parents motivated me a lot. Though my life has been well lately due to my emerging success, I’ve also experienced the bad side of it as well. Times when it was hard for me and my family my parents always told us “NEVER GIVE UP! WE DON’T QUIT”. Those words along with the solid foundation of support took me a long way in life and created the person I was destined to be today of which I’m forever grateful for.

Velle , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Growing up on the west side of Chicago was a gift & a curse for me. Chicago as a whole has always been genuine to me since the day I was born. As far back as I can remember my childhood growing up was fun for the most part. The neighborhood where I resided most of my life taught me a lot. I made a lot of memories and met a lot of good people that I will never forget. Like most, my early years in the city were joyful but as I got older I began to lose a lot of my childhood friends at a young age and many of my family members as well due to gun violence. Where I’m from there aren’t to many opportunities to keep you on the right path as I learned to understand over the course of time why a lot of my peers fell short to what’s known as “The System” because of the lack of resources and misguidance. Outside of the support that I had from my parents and other close family members & friends. Basketball was an outlet for me to escape the troublesome issues that were going on in my community. The sport I once loved most gave me an opportunity to see outside of my normal environment and travel across the world to compete against some of the best. I’m forever grateful for those opportunities because without them I wouldn’t be me. After years of pursuing my dreams of possibly making the NBA one day I finally came to realization that it was time for me to change direction towards another profession of my interest. During the pandemic I began my journey as an actor; I enrolled in acting classes and built relationships with people who were upcoming just like me at the time such as directors, actors, producers and many other well established individuals. Which eventually elevated my career and helped me manage to book many lead & supporting roles in a acceptable amount of films some known as; SLICK, DIFFERENT PAGES, COMMON GROUND, NELL’S WAY, RUNNIN 21 & A theatre play I was also a part of called “A FYSH TALE” . Big S/o to all of the directors & producers who are behind these amazing projects. 2023 has been remarkable for me by far. I have had continuous opportunities to network with a significant amount of notable people specifically pertaining to the film industry that I’m truly appreciative of. Be on the lookout for my upcoming films; HOPE, VINO NOIR, THE DAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS ON CHRISTMAS DAY, SNATCHED & MANY MORE that will be releasing on major television platforms very soon.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When I first started my journey as an actor I faced a lot of trials and tribulations. Not realizing how challenging the industry was, in the beginning I was told no quite a bit but that didn’t stop me. Throughout my experiences over the years I’ve gained a lot of knowledge that has developed me into the artist that I am today and has allowed me to be an outlet for others who seek help in starting their career or for those who are already established and just need advice.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an actor is the ability to create. Acting is a form of art that allows you express yourself in ways you can imagine. The fact that I can have the range to experience different characters is a true pleasure.
