We recently connected with Veda Chand and have shared our conversation below.
Veda, appreciate you joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
I founded Dipmine with a clear and powerful purpose: to generate opportunities and champion diverse communities. The name “Dipmine” is more than just a combination of words; it’s a reflection of our mission and values.
The concept behind Dipmine is rooted in the idea of mining for something valuable and precious, much like how gold is mined from the earth. However, instead of physical gold, we are focused on unearthing the gold and “gems” that exists within our minds and our communities. The “dip” in Dipmine symbolizes the act of dipping into this rich reservoir of talent, potential, and creativity that often goes overlooked, especially within BIPOC communities.
By polishing the metaphorical gold/gems from our minds, we aim to create the change we want to see in the world. This involves not just recognizing the inherent value within these communities, but actively investing in their elevation and success. We believe that by doing so, we are not just creating opportunities for individuals, but also fostering a more inclusive and equitable society.
The name Dipmine encapsulates our commitment to digging deep, finding, polishing, and nurturing the brilliance within underrepresented groups. It’s about believing that we all deserve better, and taking actionable steps to ensure that belief becomes a reality. By investing in the elevation of BIPOC communities, we are making a statement that their potential is invaluable and their contributions are essential for a brighter future.
The name Dipmine is essentially defined as polishing the gold and gems within our minds to create a world where everyone has the chance to shine.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Veda Chand, and I am the founder of Dipmine LLC, a Creative Consulting and Project Management company based in South Florida/New York. My journey into this industry began with a profound desire to make a difference in the lives of those often overlooked and underrepresented. With a background in business supervision and management, I have merged strategy with a communicative approach to project management, particularly within diverse communities.
My professional experience includes roles in artist management, marketing, financial analysis, and project management across various industries, from music and fashion, to media and technology. I feel like my diverse background has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of relationships and management.
Dipmine was born out of this vision of networking across and building community. The agency specializes in creating opportunities and fostering growth within diverse communities through a variety of services and initiatives. The core offerings include business development, mentorship, and management for BIPOC-led startups. I believe in the power of education, networking, and financial support to elevate individuals and businesses to their fullest potential.
One of the main problems the agency addresses for clients is the systemic barriers that prevent many talented individuals from achieving success. Whether it’s lack of access to resources, mentorship, or funding, these challenges can be daunting. At Dipmine, we work to dismantle these barriers by providing the tools, support, and opportunities needed for clients to thrive.
What sets Dipmine apart from others is the unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. As a Brown woman with an Indo-Guyanese background, Dipmine’s programs are tailored to meet the unique needs of BIPOC communities. I am proud to be a catalyst for change, creating pathways for success where there were none before.
The thing I am most proud of is the impact we have made. Seeing our clients grow, succeed, and give back to their communities is incredibly rewarding. It’s a testament to the power of believing in and investing in people.
For potential clients, followers, and fans, I want you to know that Dipmine is more than just a company. We are a movement. We are dedicated to creating a world where everyone has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background. Our work is driven by a deep sense of purpose and a belief that by elevating others, we all rise.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for Dipmine has been a combination of strategic networking and leveraging existing relationships. Networking across has been instrumental in connecting with like-minded individuals and organizations who align with the mission of fostering diversity and championing BIPOC communities.
I believe in the power of personal connections and collaboration. Working with friends and nurturing relationships with people I’ve known through various professional endeavors has not only been fulfilling but also fruitful. These relationships often lead to opportunities where Dipmine can support and further their ideas and endeavors.
By networking across different sectors—from music and fashion to media and technology—I’ve been able to build a network of clients who value the commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Whether it’s through referrals, partnerships, or direct outreach, these connections have been pivotal in expanding the client base and making a meaningful impact.
At Dipmine, every client relationship is seen as a partnership built on trust and mutual respect. By continuing to foster these connections and collaborate with individuals and organizations that share Dipmine’s values, we are able to amplify our impact and create lasting change in our communities.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Starting Dipmine in December 2020 marked a significant pivot in my career and life—a decision that had been years in the making. After working under various agencies and navigating the complexities of different industries, the idea of starting my own business had always lingered in the back of my mind. However, like many aspiring entrepreneurs, I grappled with imposter syndrome. Despite my experience in artist management and marketing with top-tier clients, the thought of launching and leading my own venture felt daunting.
The turning point came when I finally decided to confront my doubts head-on. I incorporated Dipmine and obtained my business license, which was a pivotal moment of commitment and belief in my vision. Despite the initial challenges and uncertainties, I soon realized that taking that leap was the best decision I could have made.
Once Dipmine was officially established, everything began to fall into place. The groundwork I had laid over the years—building relationships, honing my skills, and refining my vision—started to bear fruit. Clients who appreciated my dedication to diversity and inclusion initiatives began to seek out Dipmine’s services. My network of friends and colleagues became invaluable allies, supporting and promoting my business within their circles.
Overcoming imposter syndrome wasn’t easy, but with each successful project and satisfied client, my confidence grew. I realized that my unique blend of skills, experiences, and passion for social impact set Dipmine apart in a crowded marketplace. Embracing the challenges of entrepreneurship became a journey of self-discovery and empowerment.
Today, I look back on those early days with gratitude for the lessons learned and excitement for the future of Dipmine. Every pivot, from uncertainty to confidence, has shaped not just my business but also my personal growth. It’s a reminder that sometimes the most rewarding paths are the ones that require us to overcome our fears and embrace our potential.
