Vanessa, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?

I think i have always been the type of person who didnt want a boss. It was really important to me to make my own schedule as a wife and mom. I know I needed to be able to cater to the many titles i have in my life . I don’t believe i would be or could be happy working for someone else. Helping their dreams become reality while i sleep on mine. although being a business woman is never easy i believe its worth it . Sometimes it can get rough the demand of my business as well as the demand of my growing family i have thought for a very slight moment of just “getting a regular job” a guaranteed paycheck always sounds nice but when you think about it is it worth all the stress? jobs nowadays don’t respect you, your time, your life, your kids they think they come first and nothing will come over my family. I do this for them.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Wonderland treats and Events was something i grew up dreaming about as a teenager. i love sweets, I love art, I love planning events and decorating so what better way to bring it all together. I am a full service party specialist event planner and cake baker/decorator serving central florida. I am obsessed with bringing out my clients ideas and creating the most amazing treats and parties. I am proud of how far i have come over the past decade growing and learning. My passion continues to grow . I am proud of how ive made so many people happy and gained some true and loyal support. My customers mean everything to me . i do have some major plans coming soon to build my business in the next few years.

Have you ever had to pivot?

Well i can say within the last year it has been really tough. Due to a physical injury i had to take a break . It was really heartbreaking. I was mentally and emotionally over it. I just couldn’t focus the stress of trying to push through and make sure i didnt give up took a bigger toll on me than i could imagine. I thought i really should give up. Juggling being a business woman and trying to take care of my family when it was physically impossible made me feel defeated. But im still here although not fully recovered still kicking still pushing and now pregnant with my 5th child i have all the desire to keep my passion alive.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

Honestly my customers have been my greatest source of new clients. Word of mouth goes along way for my business. I have amazing loyal customers who will shout from the roof tops how much they love wonderland treats and events. I could not be more blessed with the people god brings into my life.
