We recently connected with Vanessa Rodriguez and have shared our conversation below.
Vanessa, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
In 2016, I reached the pinnacle of my professional career and amazing life but soon realized that it was not fulfilling.
Seven years ago, amidst my weekly travels, a demanding yet well-compensated job with exceptional benefits, and a year-long struggle to conceive, I started questioning the meaning of it all. I pondered, “What is the purpose behind all this?” and “What kind of social impact am I making?”
Initially, I experienced a sense of imbalance and weariness, hoping it would fade away with time. However, by the end of summer 2016, I received a call informing me of the company’s restructuring, which meant my position was being eliminated.
Two months later, I became pregnant, and a serendipitous opportunity to collaborate with a friend on a travel and social impact project presented itself. At first, it seemed like I had everything I desired. Yet, after my daughter was born, I struggled to find the motivation and enthusiasm to travel and work on the project.
Things worsened when my friend and I disagreed on the project’s direction, leading us to terminate our partnership and discontinue the endeavor.
I found myself in the midst of an identity crisis. No longer identified as someone in the travel industry, I assumed the role of a “mom.” But was that all I was? Who was I? All my previous experience revolved around travel and hotel work. I felt adrift in uncharted waters.
Engaging in introspection became my path forward. I delved into reading books, listening to podcasts, enrolling in courses, journaling, and engaging in conversations with others—I tried everything imaginable.
For twelve months, I immersed myself in this self-exploration until I made the decision to hire a Coach. Through our sessions, I unearthed a self-limiting belief—I didn’t perceive myself as good enough—and I realized I had placed coaches and psychologists on a pedestal without considering the possibility of becoming one myself.
Working with my Coach, I discovered my long-standing aspiration to become a Coach. As I explored this idea further, I received nothing but encouragement and support from those around me. They affirmed that they could see me excelling in this role and recognized my unwavering passion for personal development.
Coincidentally, my Coach was in the process of launching a Life School and was developing the curriculum for the Teacher Training Program of i’MAGiNT LiFE, the methodology I now teach and coach through.
The most significant lesson I’ve learned throughout this journey is that I am not defined by what I once believed about myself. My True Self, the person I truly am, desires something different and possesses a distinct mission for me.
Today, I no longer struggle with feelings of dissatisfaction, overwhelm, and a lack of purpose. I have let go of the pressure to become something I’m not and stopped seeking validation from others to prove my worth. Instead, I:
✧ Embrace and embody my authentic self.
✧ Continuously grow and improve in my craft.
✧ Allow my natural gifts and talents to shine.
✧ Align my life with my Highest Self.
✧ Demonstrate the best version of myself to my children.
✧ Possess the tools to support my children and others in their own self-discovery and activate their inner creativity.
Many people have asked me how I discovered my purpose, found a fulfilling job that felt like art, and achieved inner contentment.
Therefore, I’ve decided to write this post in the hopes of providing new ideas and answers to those feeling overwhelmed, unfulfilled, and lacking direction.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a Certified i’MAGiNT LiFE Teacher & Coach. In my previous career, a former Global VP in the Travel & Hospitality industry, a cross-cultural nomad, walk-the-talk type of person, a full-time life school student and alchemist. I’m from Spain, although I feel more like a Global Citizen as I have lived and visited more than 20+ countries.
My story with teaching and coaching comes from very early in life. I enjoyed teaching and sharing with others what I’d learn about personal growth from books and courses. In school and university, I had the highest scores in philosophy, sociology, ethics, anything that had to do with human behavior. I always felt the responsibility to help others solve their personal problems so I was always searching for better ways.
It was in my late thirties that I delved into self-introspection but it was. not until I hire a Coach that I unearthed a self-limiting belief & I realized I had placed coaches on a pedestal without considering the possibility of becoming one.
Coincidentally, my Coach was in the process of launching a Life School and was developing the curriculum for the Teacher Training Program of i’MAGiNT LiFE, the methodology I now teach and coach through.
Throughout all these years, I’ve been in the journey of healing my own consciousness, and discovered a greater purpose in my life and to assist other women in creating and manifesting a balanced and meaningful existence.
I’ve realized that these women are grappling with low energy, self-sabotage, overwhelming pressure, blame directed at others for their own circumstances, a sense of disconnection, feeling stuck, high stress levels, feeling misalignment with their best self. I understand how challenging it can be when you’re going through such struggles as I was there too.
What sets our methodology apart from others is that we don’t merely seek to change actions or habits but transform identity and character. We focus on the essence of who we are because if we understand and nurture our True Identity, we can perform any role in life at a much higher level!
Having gone through this transformation myself and helping others make this transformation is what I feel most proud of and what I’m best at

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lesson I had to unlearn was that I was who I believe I was and that who I was was determined by what I did for others and all the performance measurements and consequently, I believed that the more I achieved and had, the happier and fulfilled I was going to be.
I learned that we are someone different than what we believe we are and this “someone”, our True Self, wants something different, and it has a clear mission.
She’s giving clear signs and guidance but we are not SEEING it because as it happened to me, people may not believe in themselves enough or have other beliefs that are blocking them from Seeing it and therefore, creating the life that they desire.
In order to create the life that you want in alignment with your purpose, you must grow in consciousness of who you are and shed false beliefs, judgments, misinterpretations and misidentifications.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I feel that our life journeys are a journey of resilience. We are all faced with challenges throughout our life and life forces us in one way or another to evolve so we are always growing in resilience. In my own journey of resilience, there has been a before and after when I learned and ‘understood by experience” the Law of Creation and the universal principles by which we are governed such as – we are Spiritual beings having a human experience rather than human beings and therefore we all are equipped with divine qualities and we have the potential to grow in them
– we are all here to fulfill a purpose (create our own masterpiece)
– Accepting personal responsibility for our spiritual curriculum is the key that unlocks our potential and opens the door to freedom
– outer experience is a reflection of inner reality
Before I would feel bound by my life circumstances, try to change others, ignore my emotions, be someone that I wasn’t, work hard to achieve results and change habits, and then burn out from too much effort, now instead I learn and embrace my spiritual lessons when life presents hard challenges, I work from inside out in alignment with my high self
