Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Vanessa Montiel . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Vanessa , appreciate you joining us today. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
I’m definitely happier as a business owner , I have always juggled two jobs to maintain the life I want my children to have and I have shown myself that with my business I can take off and work around my children as needed. Working for someone has also shown me how sometimes working for someone else can be very stressful when it comes to being a mom. Children get sick unexpectedly and when you work for yourself it’s so easy to say , hey I’m sorry I have to reschedule and my clients totally understand me because that is definitely not common for me, when it comes to working for someone they ask so many questions to where you almost feel guilty for leaving. That’s where I gave myself a life lesson that the only way my life was going to be on my terms was going full throttle into what I have created which was VanessAesthetics! I have my freedom and I’m able to make my clientele happy and meet my personal life half way In the most respectful and peaceful way. Theirs nothing like owning your own business , making your own hours and enjoying your life on your own terms.

Vanessa , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
For those that do not know me , let me introduce myself , my name is Vanessa but everyone calls me Bonnie, I came into the industry in 2015 when I made the decision that I no longer wanted to work for someone and I wanted to be available for my daughter that I was pregnant with at the time, unlike I was able to do with my boys. I told myself I needed to find a way to be all I could possibly be for these 3 little humans I created. So with that being said I started school and went full force into the beauty industry. The following year was definitely a roller coaster, life took a toll on me and I had so many obstacles come my way but the determination I had would not allow me to break , I had to continue and somehow I made it look so effortless to the people looking in from the outside. It was a roller coaster of emotions but I knew that I had come so far and I couldn’t stop. From opening a business a year later then covid taking that from me to starting all back over and going harder was definitely life taking over, but I was forever grateful. I’m most proud of myself for overcoming the obstacles and continuing what I knew god had written for me. Today I’m happy where I am and I’m definitely so proud of myself, I have my own space where I service the most loyal clients. From lashes , facials and semi permanent makeup, I also created my own brand which is VanessAesthetics , I offer lash extension supplies along with any service to enhance your beauty. I am definitely a jack of all trades and I’m proud of how far I’ve come and theirs definitely more to come.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
The way I keep in touch with my clients is pretty easy ,on the professional side they’ve all become reoccurring clients so as far as booking they’re all set for at least two years. Now on a personal aspect I can honestly say that each one of my clients have become absolutely 100% friends , when your clients feel the genuine aspect from you , they will open up and life from both ends pour out into each beauty service without even realizing it. I can honestly say I have had some of the best eye opening , therapeutic appointments with my clients and I’m grateful to call at least 80% true friends.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source for new clients has definitely been word of mouth. I have to give all the glory to god and my clients for supporting me and keeping me busy.
