We recently connected with Vanessa Arcila and have shared our conversation below.
Vanessa, appreciate you joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
As a Colombian Woman, I strongly appreciate the know how, the experience and the stories behind the working hands of colombian artisans. This is why i work every day to build a legacy through my brand, Vanessa Arcila which enhances the artisans labor and the raw emeralds, precious gems that place our country in a positive overview.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Vanessa Arcila Jewelry was founded in 2011 as a path of innovation and exploration of shapes and
materials inspired by femininity, harmony and
nature. Every feeling and emotion that our jewels
convey is part of a spiritual experience, a symbol
of tranquility, coherence and sophistication.
In 2014 i was named international
ambassador of the Colombian emerald thanks to my
unique work with these precious gems where each
piece is developed with passion and love by the
hands of Colombian artisans seeking to
recover pre-Colombian art and culture, as well as inspiring new generations
to value and keep the tradition of this valuable art alive.
We dream that each woman who wears our pieces
connects with the beauty and strength that
characterizes Colombian emeralds.
Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?
At the moment, we have our own webpage www.vanessaarcila.com, we also sell on instagram and facebook. We are looking forward to sell at Etsy and keep growing the business, however, where we connect the most with our consumers is at the stores, and fairs. For me is really important to meet in person the client, its a pleasure to see their smiles when they try on our pieces. Its a unique connection that fulfills us as a brand.
Selling online is, of course, the ideal way to expand the brand and reach more people, however, my personal advise is to never miss the opportunity to make personal contact with the clients.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Having a clear DNA of the brand is for sure, the most important thing to build a reputation within any market. A clear DNA makes you be, collection after collection, recognizable. The main goal every brand should have is that your customers can identify your brand without having a visible name. On the other hand, good quality is a must and last but not least, work with passion; people can see when something has been done with love and that helps you build a reputation.
