Valerie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
Growing up, I was always drawn to the metaphysical and spiritual. I read every book and resource I could find, eager to learn more about the spirit world. This fascination took a profound turn when, at the age of 21, I had my first encounter with an angel. My boyfriend, now my husband, and I were on a camping trip. It was the middle of the night, and we were both fast asleep in our tent. Suddenly, I was awakened by an incredibly bright light that filled not only the tent but also the entire area outside. It was as if daylight had broken through, even though it was midnight. Strangely, I felt no fear. Instead, I was filled with a sense of curiosity. I tried to wake my boyfriend, but he remained sound asleep. Curious, I decided to venture out of the tent alone. I crawled to the entrance, unzipped it, and stepped outside. We had set up camp next to a large oak tree, and as I looked up, I saw something that took my breath away. Hovering above the tree was the most beautiful sight I had ever seen: an angel! She had golden hair and radiated an incredible, loving energy. I could only see her from the shoulders up, but it was enough to leave an indelible mark on my soul. In that moment, I was filled with awe and an overwhelming sense of love. It would be several more years before I would spontaneously connect with Archangel Michael, but this initial encounter set me on a new path. It affirmed my belief that angels and loved ones are always with us, guiding and protecting us. This experience profoundly shaped my spiritual journey, solidifying my faith in the unseen and the divine.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Growing up, we’re all conditioned to some extent by our upbringing. Our experiences with family, culture, and community heavily influence our beliefs, especially those about ourselves. I was no different.
I grew up in an ordinary Midwestern middle-class, hard-working family. The word “ordinary” was a common word in my life, shaping a belief that being ordinary meant lacking any special connection to angels or Source. I was taught that only “special” people had such connections, and I accepted this without question. But I was wrong.
One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that we all have our internal resources and our own spiritual team on the other side, ready to support us in every way. We’re not any less connected than others. We all have access to the divine and the unseen world. This realization was a catalyst for me, transforming my spiritual journey and allowing me to connect more strongly and clearly with angels and loved ones. My encounter with an angel at the age of 21 was a turning point. It shattered the belief that I needed to be “special” to experience the divine. That night, I realized that angels and spiritual guides are accessible to everyone, regardless of their perceived ordinariness. This understanding helped me break free from limiting beliefs and embrace a deeper, more profound connection with the spiritual realm.
Growing up believing that I was ordinary had its advantages. It kept me grounded and taught me the value of hard work and perseverance. However, it also instilled a sense of limitation regarding my spiritual potential. Overcoming this belief was certainly not easy, but it was necessary for my growth. By recognizing and embracing my inherent connection to the divine, I discovered a wealth of guidance, and love that had always been available to me.
My journey has taught me that we are all extraordinary in our own ways. Our spiritual resources are vast, and our connections to the other side are real and profound. Changing the belief that only “special” people can connect with the divine has opened up new levels of understanding and experience in my life. It has allowed me to tap into a deeper, more authentic version of myself. We are all connected to the other side, and we all have the support of angels and loved ones. Embracing this truth can be a powerful catalyst for growth and transformation, just as it has been for me.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I love to learn and read! In my field, curiosity is key. There are many great books and videos available to help you connect with your spiritual team. Some of my favorite teachers include Sonja Choquette, John Edwards, John Holland, Lisa Williams, and Radleigh Valentine. These are just a few of the well-known figures who have greatly influenced my journey.
Your angels have a way of bringing the right teachers, books, and videos into your awareness through synchronicities in your life. For example, a friend might mention a video or book they think you would like, just when you had been looking into that particular author or thinking about that topic earlier. That’s a sign to pick up the book or watch the video. Paying attention to these synchronicities can help guide you to the resources you need at the moment you need them.
Curiosity has always driven me to explore and expand my understanding of the spiritual world. Each book or video I encounter adds another layer to my knowledge and deepens my connection to the divine. The works of Sonja Choquette have taught me to trust my intuition and embrace my inner wisdom. John Edwards and John Holland have provided insights into mediumship and connecting with loved ones on the other side. Lisa Williams has offered practical advice on developing psychic abilities, and Radleigh Valentine has shared his wisdom on working with angels and the spiritual realm.
These resources have been instrumental in my growth, but the journey doesn’t stop there. Continuously seeking out new knowledge and remaining open to learning from various sources helps me to keep expanding and growing.
