Valerie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Who is your hero and why? What lessons have you learned from them and how have they influenced your journey?

My Hero is my daughter Kaylee Rogue! Creating cakes after she was born has more meaning and it makes me work harder for her future ! It’s also fun teaching her baking skills . I hope one day she will follow in my shoes and into the world of decorating cakes !

Hi ! My name is Valerie Genao and I am the proud owner of The Alchemist Bake Shop ! The Alchemist Bake Shop is an at home bakery located in the heart of Orlando , Fl. We offer custom specialty cakes, cupcakes and other treats for any event ! Gluten free, sugar free and vegan options are also available. I started baking about 25 years ago . I am originally from Paterson , Nj and moved to Orlando in 2016. What sets us apart from any other bakery is the quality of our cakes and the coats are affordable. What I am most proud of is how I am able to do the new cake trends and learn new skills in the industry .

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

What has been the most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been daily posts of my work on Instagram and Facebook . Doing monthly sales and asking questions to get more feed back from my clients .

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

What helped me build my reputation is the quality of my cakes and how they taste . Also word of mouth goes along way . Every cake is made for a special occasion but you have to always put your all because there may be potential new clients at this event .
