We recently connected with Valeria Madinaveitia and have shared our conversation below.
Valeria, appreciate you joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I believe the word success or being successful is something we are always trying to reach. Personally, success for me means work: hard work, patience, and be consistent in whatever your dream or goals are up to. I believe success is made of decisions, taking the risk, or even just leaving your comfort zone.
Before I decided to follow my instinct (into baking) my mind was full of fears and doubts: thoughts that made me realize I was just afraid to fail. Imagine that, failing before even starting.
I understood that I needed to believe and prepare myself first, and just like that “say yes” to my first order. That first order who brought many more.
If you ask me about success, most probably I would tell you: “Believe in yourself every step of the road”, and always be grateful for the opportunity life is giving you.

Valeria, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
How it started… I can perfectly picture myself that day when my first decorated cookie was done. Yes, it was ugly, and yes that gave me the motivation to start something new. I always considered myself a creative person, I remember that little seven y/o who was baking Christmas cookies at her aunt’s. I believe those times woke up something inside of me, something I will learn many years later that I was good at it.
On a rough day or on a happy day, baking was always my safe place.
When I became a stay-at-home mom I knew inside of me something was off, I needed more, and that’s how I started baking, for me, for my family and friends, just as a hobby mostly, until it became my everyday passion.
In Vtreats, you can find so many different, delicious, and customizable desserts. Decorated sugar cookies, Cake design, and so many other options to make your event even more special.
One of my favorite parts of being a home baker is appreciating the trust that people put into my work, I consider one of the most important parts of my job as listening to people; listening to their ideas allows me to create something exceptional just for them.
Being an entrepreneur and a mom may not be easy, there’s gonna be so many working nights for sure. But knowing I’m 100% committed to this project every day, makes me realize how happy and fortunate I am, just because I can work on what I love most every day.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I strongly believe every business has its lines in its social media, which I like to picture as an ” essence”. The truth is we are always focusing on numbers or views, I like to believe we need to ask ourselves some questions before or while using social media for our businesses:
1. What are you selling?
2. Who do you want to sell it?
3. Which content fits your brand?
4. How often and what times work better to publish on your social media?
I could add so many more questions lol, but these helped me to start, one last advice I would give is: To be consistent in the content on your pages. As I always say: “Everyone needs to see something from Vtreats. every day”.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
My customer service. As I mentioned before, I enjoy being a small part of the special day of my customers. I consider being polite and available to people, may open doors for you and your business. Being that way helped me when I made mistakes, so I believe being good to people will always bring you good things.
