We recently connected with Valeria Lipovetsky and have shared our conversation below.
Valeria, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
The first time I knew I wanted to pursue a creative and artistic path professionally was when I realized how much joy and fulfillment I felt from sharing stories and connecting with others through my content. It wasn’t a single moment but more of a gradual realization as I saw the impact my work had on people.
Early on, I would create content just for fun—sharing pieces of my life, thoughts, and experiences. As I started to receive feedback from viewers who felt inspired, entertained, or even comforted by what I shared, it became clear that this was more than just a hobby. The turning point was when I saw the power of storytelling to build communities and bring people together. That’s when I knew this was the path I wanted to dedicate myself to, not just as a passion, but as a professional career.
The idea of being able to merge creativity with a purpose-driven approach, and to do so in a way that could reach millions of people, was incredibly motivating. From there, I made the decision to fully invest in this journey, and it’s been an amazing adventure ever since.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Valeria Lipovetsky, a content creator and founder of VALERIA INC. I have been working in the influencer industry for over 7 years now and have built a dedicated audience of over 6.6 million followers across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. Together with my incredible team at VALERIA INC., we’ve built a media company that specializes in creating engaging content and optimizing it for brand partnerships, among other ventures.
My journey into the world of content creation started out of a passion for storytelling and connecting with others. Over the years, I’ve honed my skills not just in creating content that resonates with people, but also in understanding the intricacies of social media algorithms, audience engagement, and brand collaboration.
What sets me apart in this industry is the combination of creativity and strategy that we bring to the table. At VALERIA INC. we don’t just focus on producing content; we dive deep into analytics to ensure that what we create not only captivates but also delivers tangible results for the brands we partner with. Our approach is both data-driven and authentic, which has been key to building a loyal and engaged audience.
Our media company is not just about me; it’s about the collective effort of a passionate team that’s committed to pushing the boundaries of what digital content can achieve. Whether it’s through videos, podcasts, or social media campaigns, our goal is to create meaningful connections and drive impactful results for the brands and audiences we work with.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, there is a clear goal and mission driving my creative journey: to inspire, connect, and empower. At the heart of everything I do is the desire to create content that resonates deeply with people, sparking meaningful conversations and fostering a sense of community. I aim to be a positive force in the digital space, using my platform not just to entertain, but to uplift and encourage others to pursue their own passions and dreams.
My mission is also to bridge the gap between authenticity and strategy, proving that you can stay true to yourself while still achieving success in a competitive industry. I want to show that creativity and business acumen can coexist, leading to impactful work that benefits both the audience and the brands we partner with.
Ultimately, my goal is to leave a lasting legacy—one that goes beyond numbers and metrics and touches lives in a real and significant way. Whether it’s through inspiring someone to take a leap of faith, providing a moment of joy, or driving positive change, this mission is what fuels every piece of content I create and every project I undertake.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
About a year ago, I shared that I had my first BIG failure when I decided to close my e-commerce brand. Some of you knew it as leia collection when we were focused on sunnies and jewelry; then it became VERIE where we launched more jewelry, pajamas, activewear, and dress collections; and eventually it evolved to VALERIA where we were focused on ready-to-wear clothing. As you can see by the changing names alone, we were going through it. And it’s no surprise considering that e-commerce success rates are less than 20%, not to mention the difficulty of retail manufacturing and logistics.
I went into the e-commerce world VERY green. As my ambitions grew larger beyond accessories, we built a team and infrastructure to accommodate. Looking back, I am so deeply grateful for the love and support this community gave me – through all the production delays, the branding changes, and the limited collections. I’m grateful to STILL be receiving messages and tags from people who love and continue to wear what we created. It was a labor of love for four (extremely fulfilling) years. I’ll never be able to fully explain the pride and excitement seeing orders roll in on launch day or seeing someone wear our pieces in the wild. But as fulfilling as it was, it was also really, really hard.
In early 2023, I was feeling the burnout of running the e-commerce brand alongside VALERIA INC. Every day I tried my best to show up as a business owner, in my marriage, and as a mother and, more often than not, I felt like I was falling short. I also felt myself losing steam – losing the passion – for what we were creating. And I’d argue that, that is one of the most necessary elements of success, your drive to make something work. Having passion doesn’t always mean it’ll turn out how you want it to but it definitely gives you a better chance. So, after months of deliberation, I made the difficult decision to close my brand and move forward towards other endeavors.
Deciding to close the door on e-commerce opened several doors for me to pursue other passions and interests including spending more quality time with my family, exploring podcasting with my podcast Not Alone, and building value & community for the creator industry with Creator Method. Letting go allowed me to open myself up to other possibilities. I learned SO MUCH in the process and I truly wouldn’t change anything about the journey to where I am now.
