Valenciago , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?

As a singer/songwriter and all around artist, my most meaningful project to date is my upcoming EP! I’ve been working diligently on writing quality songs that directly reflect my obstacles and the beauty in coming through so much and still having my love for music be a focal point in my life.

I’ve been presented with opportunity after opportunity that never quite moved my career along. I’ve experienced so much good and made so many connections and established relationships along my journey that have enhanced my music and craft, that I can’t help but be on my best behavior musically!

I’ve worked with and sat in rooms with people I would have never thought I would and I cherish those experiences. I have people rooting for me and little people that love me who are depending on me. Music has always been my first love and I treat it as such!

Valenciago , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I kind of kept my vocal capabilities to myself until my last year of middle school. I mean I didn’t even tell my mama! Lol I first showcased my singing to her that summer and it kind of just went up from there! She was so surprised. I knew I wanted to be a singer and I knew I belonged on stage. So I made it my mission to achieve that dream. I married young and had kids young but I married someone who loved music like I do. We shared that connection and after the split things slowed up for me. Basically dried up. I went through depression because I missed music and love just kept me from it. I had music industry friend that cheered me on. My good friend Million Melodies always had my back. I credit him for never giving up on me and pushing me to do what my heart yearned to do, so I hopped back in like I never left. as Valenciago and she is everything!

So, I had to fully self fund my passion take care of my 2 babies so I had to be super mom and so I started my own beauty company to provide freely for us and provide me a career that will be enjoyable for me.

I launched Urs Truly Cosmetics & Beauty Co., I launched my cosmetic and beauty service brand right at the start of a pandemic and survived, the following I gained by providing good service and good products was heartfelt. I was so motivated. And today I can say I’ve serviced over 200 women, men, & children since relocation back to Mobile, Alabama in 2020, from Atlanta, Georgia. So in 2 years, I think I knocked down a few goals!

Because I own a beauty company, my image is important which was automatically a must as an vocal artist. So everything just came together!

I signed to MVE (Media Vybe Entertainment) in 2021. I met Kemoni on clubhouse and it’s been up since then. He understands my passion and totally gets the vision! He’s an amazing friend and CEO!

I released my first public single in September 2021 and its doing amazing in all platforms. I released a Christmas single, Santa Baby which is the epitome of smooth vocalization and technique, I love it. I released my second single in February 2022! I’ll be releasing visuals soon and my EP! My customers and clients have easily become my fans as well so I have a lot of support and I’m ready to go! 🤞🏾

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

The freedom of having no restrictions on what makes me happy! In both the music and beauty industry, individuality is key so my hair being non tradition styles and colors or my clothing being different doesn’t stop me excelling in either areas of what makes me Valenciago!

Have you ever had to pivot?

I lost everything after divorce. Literally. everything….. and I had to put myself back in the workforce to rebuild my life as a single parent and developing artist. This was in 2016. I’ve been pushing ever since.

I had to put all my passions on hold to survive. And that alone taught me sacrifice. So this journey I’m on to fulfill my musical passions is personal and I’m not stopping. No matter what anyone thinks! All I ask is that y’all vibe with me!
