We were lucky to catch up with Valencia Snow recently and have shared our conversation below.
Valencia, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you wish you had started sooner?
I’ve been involved with music for as long as I can remember. Whether it was church or school choir or even karaoke. But I didn’t start doing it seriously until I was 22 years old. I honestly hate that I waited so long because I believe I probably would be a lot further along in my career. If I had a Time Machine I would’ve pushed myself more in high school. But as much I wish I could’ve started earlier I believe everything happens exactly when it should happen & extremely grateful for the opportunities that I’ve come across.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I got into music in late 2017 after finally deciding to take it seriously. I’ve always been very interested in music but just needed a push to finally get into the booth. I also currently provide mobile pedicures for people it’s the comforts of a salon pedicure in their own home. It’s perfect for those that don’t get off until after the nail shop is closed or those that feel insecure about their feet. I love doing toes it’s something extremely rewarding to me being able to help those that might be on their feet all day or experience pain due to long toenails. I plan on doing full service nails in 2023 as well as introducing spa pedicures. Musically I have a couple songs that I’m releasing in February that I’m super excited about.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative for me is having a safe space to be able to express myself. I no longer have to bottle up my emotions I can leave it in the booth or use it to focus on perfecting a nail design.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I initially started nail school I had just got out of a relationship and used it as a distraction so I pretty much was all in. I was working full time doing overtime while still going to school 5 days a week. At first it was hard pivoting between the two due to my schedule. I worked 8-4:30 then had basically a hour in between before I had to be at school from 5:30 to 9:30. It wasn’t stressful but it did turn me somewhat antisocial. Chasing your dreams comes with sacrifice I’m just glad the people that matter understood.
