Alright, Valar thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

I honestly just wanna show others that are wanting to start their own career that you can do it, all it takes is time, patience, a lot of intuition and a tough skin.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My name is Valar Dubose! I am a Texas Burlesque artist and traveling artist statewide and will soon be worldwide. I got my start in the industry by first performing at open mic nights, as I started going more and more. I became more comfortable with performing and was soon getting booked for performances instead of just going to open mic nights, which was a complete blessing. I think what sets me apart from other is just my dedication and confidence. I could be going through the worst time of my burlesque career and or could be stagnant in not receiving shows. but would still be holding my head up high knowing that with patience the right show will present itself in Diving Timing.

One thing I am extremely proud of is that I am starting a new projects where I am producing the shows, Not many burlesque artist are able to receive that opportunity at such a short amount of time of being in the industry and also headlining in my first festival

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

Honestly my strong faith and optimistic view on pursuing my dreams.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

Sometimes the industry of Burlesque can be extremely competitive and I may not get to be on the line up on certain shows or festivals that I would like to be on due to not being up to pear in the eyes of the person that is creating show when submitting audition videos, and honestly that can make you feel really low. But having such a optimistic attitude it makes me resilient to when not accepted. My motto is sometimes I may not be someones cup of tea and their entitled to their opinion but to be alert because when open door closes another opens!!!
