Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Val Hardy. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Val thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?
The kindest thing someone has ever done for me was during my early 20s, not long after I purchased my first home at 25. It was exciting, but I was secretly struggling financially. One month, I couldn’t even afford a new box of contact lenses which I really needed for work and daily life. I confided in two close friends, knowing we were all young and tight on money. A week passed, and the contact lens company kept calling, insisting I pick up the lenses. I was too embarrassed to admit I couldn’t pay, and going to my parents felt like failing, so it wasn’t an option for something like this. I avoided their calls. Then one day, one of those friends came by to visit. After we talked for a while, she handed me the exact amount needed to pick up the lenses. She said, “This is for you.” That small but powerful act with no questions, no judgement meant everything to me. Not only did it relieve the pressure and stop the harassing calls, but it also showed me how deeply she cared. That moment cemented our friendship. She had my back, and I had hers. We’re still best friends to this day.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve always leaned on my friends through both the good times and hard ones. During COVID and even now, I started receiving more and more calls and texts from friends who were sad, stressed, frustrated, and worried about their health or job security. I tried to check in with each of them individually, but one day I thought: What if we all came together? That’s how Val’s Roundtable was born. It’s a 60-minute online space where women can come as they are with no titles, no pressure, just real talk and connection. I don’t claim to solve problems, but I do create a safe space for us to breathe, laugh, uplift one another and be reminded that we’re not alone.
At Val’s Roundtable, we leave the mom, wifey, or partner hat at the door. We tell happy stories, hype each other up, receive affirmations, and often welcome a quick guest speaker who drops gems to help us keep going.
What I’m most proud of is how this little space of love and light has created real impact, from one woman to another. I hear from the women, and they look forward to our monthly wellness check-in and chat. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about being present. That’s the heart of my mission.

Is there a mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, my mission is to create space for women to feel seen, heard, and recharged. My creative journey is rooted in connection and community. I want to help women remember who they are beyond the roles they carry every day. Whether it’s through affirmations, shared stories, or meaningful conversation. My goal is to offer a moment of pause and power where women can drop the weight, feel supported and leave a little more lifted than they came.
We meet online to make it as convenient as possible because we know everyone’s juggling full, busy schedules. Val’s Roundtable is all about being cheered on by your personal virtual cheerleader Val and the ValPals. It is a space for joy, reflection, and sisterhood in a way that fits into real life.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the best part is seeing someone leave the check-in smiling and feeling inspired or with a new friend! We all need a little joy boost sometimes. Val’s Roundtable is that dose of love, laughs, and real talk,
