We were lucky to catch up with Vaishali Sanghavi recently and have shared our conversation below.

Vaishali, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Please tell us about starting your own firm and if you’d do anything different knowing what you know now.

Since childhood, I wanted to do something for animals, but due to lack of money, I could not do anything even if I wanted to.I love to feed and take care of them whenever I get the chance.My purpose and ultimate goal in life are to build a shelter for the emaciated, abandoned, malnourished, unheard, unattended VOICELESS SOULS of my city. They can’t express their agony, they can’t mourn the death of their loved ones, and they are neglected, left to die, and starve for countless days. They are the Strays. They are labeled as “RASTE KA KUTTA”.
All I aspire to build a home for the crippled ones who are left to rot on the streets or die due to lack of proper care and medical attention.I’m an ordinary woman with extremely limited resources, but with a desire to change the world for the RASTE KA KUTTA of my city.

I want to do something for them but due to lack of finance not able to do anything for them. Every time desire doesn’t work we need a team and money. I only have a dream but do not have the strength to fulfill it. I told my dream to many people and asked them for help but no one is ready to help me. Everyone lives for themselves; I want to live for these voiceless there is no one to support me, no team, no partner, just a feeling to do something for these stray animals. I am an animal feeder myself, I spend 50% part of my salary only on their food. But it’s not enough for them. I could not meet their medical treatment and other needs. Building a shelter requires space, medical equipment, and a good team I don’t have anything I know my dream is big, and I am ready to work hard for them one day i will make shelter home for these babies . till then i will do what ever i can .

Vaishali, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I’m not a big celebrity that people would know about me, I’m just a small town woman who wants to do something for these innocent animals.I remember that was my first rescue when I could not save Puppy even if I wanted to because he had no place to stay after medical treatment.I had no other option but to leave that child on the road which i still regret. Since then I decided that I have to do something for these children. I cannot let these children die like this. I have to first build a house for them.where they can feel safe,life is not easy for these kids,They have to search for one time meal, sometimes they do not get even one time meal and have to sleep with empty stomach .
I want to give these animals two meals a day and a place to sleep where they can live comfortably without any problems.

Leorescue is the first step taken for these animals. At this time I give food to 70 animals and take care of them.I also spend it from my own salary.it’s hard without someone’s help..

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?

i remember when i started this job.I didn’t have money, could hardly give them even biscuits to give them one time meal.i sold my gold chain for them, there was no one who could help me in this work.there was no one who could help me in this work I used to do all this alone to feed them.I know what I’ve lost taking care of these kids,Today 70 children are dependent on me, I am their mother.I am proud to be the mother of these children. It is another matter that even today I am short of money, somehow I am managing

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

Today people call me dog mother and I am proud to be called by this name,Whenever any child is in trouble, people call me and I reach there to help that child.I haven’t got money but I have definitely earned my name.If I were there, no child would die a bad death,I will try my best to save them and will also take care of them, this is the promise I have made to myself.
