Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Vaeé Shynique. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Vaeé, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.

Since the day I was born I’ve known that music, arts, entertainment, entrepreneurship and leadership are my passions and purposes! — so, let’s just say it’s my destiny.

The “first time” I knew I wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path,.. Hmmm.. I’d think since forever. Haha.

All joking aside, though, I’ve had a spark and driving flame for artistry since forever! If I really had to identify it with a specific time.. it’ll most likely be in Elementary School or Pre-K. I’ve been performing for over 2 decades. I’m destined for greatness. I’m destined to be the person I am. I’m destined to be the young woman I’m evolving to become.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?

I officially entered the industry through pageant competitions and hosting and promoting my own parties. I later began to advance my knowledge of the music industry itself by being a founder and one of the first students to participate in my district’s audio engineering program.

MY WELL-ROUNDEDNESS AND VERSATILITY IS WHAT SETS ME APART FROM OTHERS. I’m more than an artist. I’m an influencer, brand ambassador, model, singer, songwriter, producer, executive producer, stage director, engineer, digital creator, content creator, and that’s only to name a few of my job titles,

Being that my career began at such an early age, my ability to reinvent myself is phenomenal. I enjoy taking risk. I enjoy being a trendsetter. I enjoy having a platform that cultivates others to make positive decisions and remain hopeful in their dreams and aspirations. I realize how inspiring I am to others. My brand encourages my followers and fans to take actions that encourages growth.

Lots of people, children specifically are in search of a role model. They’re looking for the next sign of confirmation that they will succeed, too. I give that hope. My music encourages those beliefs.

From the messages I receive on a daily basis from my supporters and fans, it lets me know that my music and influence allows them to be themselves. When you’re your true self, your most authentic self, you vibrate higher. My music and platform catapults THAT higher frequency that everyone’s looking for! I’m the sister, friend, homie, girlfriend, co-worker, classmate, partner kinda vibe. You can feel that when you listen to my music. Ya know?

I’m most proud of my current journey. I’m learning to appreciate my success in the present. Knowing that I’m on a new level is rewarding within itself. While it may sometimes be a lot to phantom, success and abundance is mine! And there’s still so much more to create. I’m excited for what’s next!

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?

We could first start by genuinely supporting each other. If you’re in a position to help facilitate someone else’s goals, do just that and see how that has an impact on your success, as well as others.

Support goes a lot further than just money. You can simply like, comment or share a post in favor of your friends or favorite artist.

Stream our music. Buy our albums. Show up to our nonprofit events and our concerts, meet & greets, etc. Become apart of our fan base. It’s so many ways you can support (us) as artist. & I’m sure you’ll feel good while you’re doing it!

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

One of the most rewarding things about being a creative, is seeing the influence my music has on my listeners, supporters, followers and fans.

I’ve even experienced other artist incorporating my sound and lyrics into their’s.

It’s rewarding to know my sound is impacting so many (even those who may have a larger following or more listeners). It lets me know that I’m doing the right thing if others are wanting to copy my style.

P.S. My features are $1,000 per verse up to $3500 for a full collaboration. Just putting that out there, so people are mindful and aware of it when they’re incorporating my sound into theirs. My rates are reasonable as of now, but I promise the price is going up by the millisecond. Haha.
