We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful V3x. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with V3x below.
V3x, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
I believe one of the most satisfactory feelings in life is completion. Feeling that relief and pressure lift when you’ve FINALLY done all you needed to do. For me, when things happen in my life, I write… the only way I can get rid of that pressure or feel the relief is to release. ‘The Gr3y Area’ is a project that has been in the works at the back of my mind for years now. It’s time to stop procrastinating. The project consists of songs that range from 2 to 4 years old! Imagine holding onto songs for that long WHILE continuously creating more.. it gets very confusing.
My goal in sharing ‘The Gr3y Area’ with you all is to bring light to the dim parts of life. To point out that even though something isn’t as bad, it doesn’t mean its good.. and to show how being stagnant in your own world can be exhausting and bring you out of character.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
The character v3x simply comes from my journals.. giving a voice to the aggressor in my head has helped me better address what feelings belong to what version of myself. It’s so funny- I’ve been singing my whole life and I didn’t know locals were pushing music and going to studios until late 2019.. I had pulled up to Jake Manix’s studio with an old friend and I remember feeling so amazed by the revelation that creating music professionally wasn’t as far fetched as I thought it would be.
Immediately, that day, I booked a future session with him and wrote a song the same night. My first recorded song ‘Dr34m1ng’ was born! After hearing all the feedback and about how people could relate to my music or even use my music as an emotional remedy of some sorts gave me this new sense of purpose.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Always be you. You’re going to feel exhausted and dissatisfied gaining followers from facade… Eventually this will lead to you constantly wondering what you need to do next to keep people watching. Why would you ever want people to want you under certain lighting.. just thinking about that gives me a headache.
Build an authentic fanbase .. it’s going to take time, maybe even years.. but these are the people who stay with YOU and support YOU, not your relevancy. Post what you want/like.. don’t think too hard, stress isn’t pretty!!!!
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Speak up. Speak up. Speak up. Growing up I’ve always held my tongue in fear of rejection, abandonment, and conflict. I have always learned to avoid conflict.. which CAN come in handy sometimes!
In order to get what YOU want you must execute your wants. If something is not to your standards look elsewhere or fix it because settling for anything will only hold you back and keep you stagnant.
