Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Utsav Bajgain. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Utsav, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
I was in the 10th year of my corporate career working at Panasonic as manager after working in Japan, Mexico and US. Having practiced TM for 5+ years at that time I felt the transformation in cognitive capacity, awareness and joy of life is real. If I could offer this transformation to others, it would add a new dimension, purpose and meaning to my life. So, I jumped into taking the step of becoming a TM teacher. I went to Thailand to go through a six month in residence teacher training course came back to US and started teaching TM. It has been 4 years since and I now regularly teach out of Everett TM Center located in Edmonds, WA while I also have a full-time job at Boeing.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I was born in Nepal, raised in India and Japan, now I live, work and teach meditation in the US. I have an Economics degree but I have worked with engineering teams in my entire career in companies like Furukawa, Panasonic, Samsung and Boeing. While I was working, I got into teaching meditation and life coaching by helping people to solve their problems both professional and personal. Having a strong business, consultancy and strategic planning skills, I started solving bigger and bigger problems. And now I find myself at the juncture of solving problems by giving an individual a technique to develop their consciousness so that they are better equipped to solve problems from a more fundamental level. Lately, I have helped many individuals with mental health challenges, PTSD, sleep issues, depression, chronic stress, etc. through the practice of meditation. Doing this, I am able to guide them to better life decisions, finding true purpose and knowing one’s most authentic self.
I teach the Transcendental Meditation technique which is an easy, effortless and natural mediation technique in which the mind settles down so easily to experience more subtle states of awareness and then finally transcend all activity of the mind to experience stillness, inner peace, bliss and joy. There is a very well structured 4 day course to teach the technique but my style is meditator centric, understanding your needs and goals and guiding you accordingly to attain stress-free life, better cognitive capacity, better health, better relationships and how you engage in transforming communities.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Life coaching, meditation and inner journey is very private and intimate. I meet the person where they are at in their journey and work together to craft a path that is easy, doable, manageable, effective, fun and yet transformational. I have a laser focus on the client to empower and enable the client to go to the most fundamental levels of consciousness that is beyond the percieved self, ego, mind, body and senses. This helps bring more actionable insights. I then work with the clients to craft sustained practice to cultivate improvement in inner life. My reputation really comes from impact and transformation that I am able to bring to clients overall well being and life. They then refer me to others. I don’t market myself except I let my work and impact spread naturally.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Referrals and word of mouth has been the best way for me. I find my clients referring their closest friends and family and that is how the impact has been growing.
