We recently connected with Uri & Lindsey Bendoski and have shared our conversation below.
Uri & Lindsey, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
We want to foster a healthier music and arts culture in Utah, where talent isn’t trapped in a cycle of competition but supported through storytelling and collaboration. Too often, bands fight to be the next to break out, but we believe the real breakthrough comes from sharing the stories behind the music and uplifting each other. The more we support one another, the larger and more engaged the audience becomes. Our focus is on building a creative ecosystem—one that, if successful here, can be expanded to other markets. If I can see that change in my lifetime, I will consider it a victory.

Uri & Lindsey, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
How Gearly Beloved Productions got started-
Uri has spent the last 17 years in the music industry, working on both the retail and tech sides. He’s helped local and touring bands troubleshoot their pedalboards, in-ear monitor setups, and general live sound issues—while also witnessing more than his fair share of band drama along the way.
After almost two decades of working for a massive corporation that became increasingly toxic, his good friend Chad approached him with an idea: start a YouTube channel focused on music gear(@gearly_beloved). Jumping in headfirst, Uri took a crash course in video and lighting, quickly becoming proficient. But soon, we realized we could do so much more than just talk about gear—we could use our skills to highlight the incredible musicians in our community.
Since then, Uri has remained deeply involved in music tech, helping bands prepare for tour—especially those who can’t afford a manager. Over the last year, Lindsey has become more involved in both the business and filming side, and together, we’ve noticed a bigger shift taking place. When we first started filming shows, we were often the only camera crew—maybe, on occasion, a lone photographer at a bigger gig. But we kept pushing forward, honing our craft, and sharing our work. Now, at the last five shows we’ve attended, multiple photographers and videographers were capturing the magic.
This is more than just a coincidence—it’s a cultural shift. In the short time we’ve been grinding and trying to make ends meet, we’ve seen the scene come alive in ways we never expected. Watching that transformation unfold has been incredible.
The energy in the air is undeniable. Something big is coming. And our ultimate goal is simple: help bands connect with their audiences before and between shows so that more people come out, and musicians can start making a real living doing what they love—just like we are.
Our Edge Over the Competition-
Uri comes from the music and tech side of the industry, and his ability to learn at an impressive rate—especially when it comes to technical aspects—gives us a unique edge. The more complex the challenge, the more he thrives. Understanding the broader picture of the music industry allows us to help clients make smarter financial decisions, ensuring they get the biggest bang for their buck.
At the moment, our focus is simply making ends meet—but this is what we’ll be doing for the rest of our lives, no matter what. We know that real financial success will come as we continue pushing for meaningful change in the culture. One of our favorite sayings, which we hold close to our hearts, is:
“We will make you look so good, you’ll need to hire us for the write-off.”
We stand by this, and we will never release anything that makes someone look bad—unless, of course, they specifically request it because it’s funny.
Beyond creating high-quality content, we also offer bands insights into the business side of the industry, helping them find ways to generate income. Our goal isn’t just to get paid what we’re worth—it’s to build a thriving scene where bands can sustain themselves and, in turn, afford to reinvest in their careers.
Everything we do follows the “Rising Tides” philosophy: when one band succeeds, we all succeed. If you’re in a band that’s drawing a crowd, bring an opening act that complements your sound. They’ll gain fans from your audience, and vice versa. More fans for everyone in the long run—that’s how we grow a real music community.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Right now, about 90% of our clients come from simply showing up—filming shows, shaking hands, and directly connecting with the local scene we’re working to elevate. Word-of-mouth has been huge, with referrals coming from past clients and bands who’ve seen our work firsthand.
Social media has also played a big role. Bands see our epic reels and reach out after realizing the impact high-quality visuals can have on their image. What’s crazy is that we’ve done little to no paid marketing—everything so far has been built on pure sweat equity, creativity, and a relentless drive to push this scene forward.
The connections we make in person and the work we showcase online continue to fuel our growth, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
On 06.06.22, Uri shattered his right ankle in a trimalleolar fracture—a brutal injury requiring major surgery, months of non-weight-bearing recovery, and a complete halt to work. For most people, this would have been a forced break. But for Uri, it became a turning point.
At the time, Lindsey was handling the editing for their YouTube channel, keeping things moving while Uri was stuck in bed. But after just a week of being laid up, he started going stir-crazy. Needing something to focus on, he dove headfirst down a rabbit hole of paid courses on film, lighting, scene development, and visual storytelling. What started as a way to pass the time quickly became an obsession.
For Uri, gear is gear—no matter what industry it’s for. Whether it’s a pedalboard or a camera rig, he loves the technical side of things, always eager to master new tools. He vowed to add filmmaking to his vast mental encyclopedia, treating it with the same passion he’s always had for music tech.
What made his journey even more impressive? He did it all while enduring surgery, intense physical therapy, and excruciating pain—without taking any opioids. In Lindsey’s mind, that kind of determination proves there’s nothing he can’t do.
After witnessing the insane progress Uri made in such a short time, Lindsey gave the green light on a full-blown career change. This wasn’t just a side project anymore—it was the future.
