We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Urania Harp a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Urania thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Since I was young I’ve had a deep need to follow what felt true, even when it led me off the beaten path.
At age five I was already passionate about reading and writing far beyond my grade level. However, when my mother expressed my feelings of boredom and wanting to be challenged in the classroom, my teacher said there was nothing they could do and didn’t recommend that I skip a grade, so I transferred schools. That was my first real lesson that when something doesn’t support your growth, you find a new environment that does.
By my senior year of high school I had already completed most of my coursework through advanced placement classes. I only needed one class to graduate, so I made the practical yet rebellious choice (against the will of my mother and school advisors), I chose to focus only on what was essential. I excelled with honors despite skipping class, nonetheless I was expelled for insubordination and truancy. Contrary to the vice principal’s threats that I wouldn’t get into the college of my choosing, I completed my course and received my diploma over the summer. I got accepted into a prestigious university in Washington DC. This chapter taught me that honoring my truth sometimes means being misunderstood, but it’s always worth it. I know myself best and have followed my inner guidance before I truly knew what that meant.
A few years later, age 20, everything changed as this was the year of my spiritual awakening. This was catalyzed by my learnings of the corruption and betrayal of my family church and felt that everything I was taught was a lie. I decided to wipe the slate clean and become atheist. This only lasted for a month or so as I knew and felt intuitively that there was something greater than myself out there. I felt a deep connection to the planetary energies, the moon and the cosmos.
Synchronistically, I met a coworker who was raised Pagan and asked her to teach me everything she knew. She handed me a tarot deck and told me to learn for myself. It all felt mysterious, yet familiar. That was the moment I stepped fully onto the path of self-initiation through ritual, astrology, divination, and cosmic communion. It was all experiential with raw passion and inspiration.
As I continued to follow my passion, the expansive and mysterious nature of the cosmos led me to Boulder, Colorado to study astronomy at the University of Colorado. There I felt the tension between science and spirituality, however I stayed true to my excitement and practiced my spiritual studies as I deepened my understanding of the mechanics of the universe.
At age 30 I earned my Bachelor’s in Astronomy. The original plan was to attend graduate school, however my inner self pointed me in a different direction. Unbeknownst to me, this pathway was more expansive than academia as it weaved my passion for both science and spirituality.
With this said, I immersed myself in astrological study and spiritual practice, this time more seriously. With encouragement from a friend, I began offering astrology and tarot readings professionally. That moment reshaped my direction and opened the door to the work I do now.
Furthermore, at 36, a deeper transformation began as I experienced a complete shedding of self. That being my identity, beliefs, and direction, all released. In the void I embraced the dream realm, a sensitive place for exploration due to trauma I experienced in young adolescence. I found the wisdom of my subconscious, the voice of my higher self, and the courage to fully embody my purpose without imposter syndrome and limiting beliefs of my upbringing.
In conclusion, I fully embrace my life’s mission to follow and act on my passion and excitement, as this is my soul’s indicator that I am in alignment with my greatest potential and true self. Creative expression and sharing with others is divine purpose. My mission radiates within my professional practice and offerings. I guide and mentor individuals in creating a meaningful and pleasurable life rooted in creative self-expression by channeling and embodying the wisdom of their inner self through various modalities such as astrology, divination, dreams and ritual work.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Urania Harp, and I’m a professional astrologer, mentor and intuitive guide with over 20 years of experience translating esoteric wisdom into grounded, practical tools for modern living. My work weaves together astrology, tarot, dreamwork, ritual practices, and energetic healing to support deep transformation and soul alignment.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Astronomy from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and much of my path has been shaped by an instinctual desire to bridge science and spirituality. I’m deeply passionate about exploring the core connection between the seen and unseen, the physical and spiritual, and helping others understand how these realms interact within their own lives.
In recent years, I have oriented my studies and practices towards dream analysis as a tool for healing and self-discovery. I’ve found that the subconscious offers profound guidance when we learn how to listen. Dreamwork has become a key part of how I support clients in reconnecting with their inner truth.
My offerings are designed to be expansive and integrative, allowing me to meet each client where they are. Whether someone comes seeking clarity, healing, or deeper purpose, my goal is to provide insight and tools that align with their unique journey. Their goals are achieved through my expertise of astrology, dreams and spiritual guidance.
My path into this work was never something I planned. It unfolded naturally as I followed my inner guidance and pursued what I was genuinely passionate about. I’ve always had a deep curiosity about the cosmos, consciousness, and the unseen world, and I immersed myself in these studies simply because they lit me up. There was no pressure or an agenda, just a calling.
In the beginning, I shared my insights and experiences with friends and community, not as a business, but as an offering from the heart. Over time, people began to encourage me to offer readings professionally. I easily followed this guidance despite imposter syndrome and everything started to shift. I began to be approached by others in the industry for collaborations.
It all happened in alignment with my path, not through force and I believe that’s what makes this work so fulfilling. It continues to grow from a place of trust, passion, and service.
I support clients who are feeling stuck, lost, or at a crossroads in their life, especially those who sense a higher calling but aren’t sure how to move towards it. Many come to me seeking clarity and alignment with their soul purpose, or wanting to develop and master their creative or spiritual gifts, not only for personal growth, but often with the intention of turning those gifts into a meaningful path or career.
I also work with individuals who are looking to reconnect with their higher self or inner being, and those who want to bring more intention and flow into their daily life by aligning with the rhythms of the cosmos.
Moreover, for many, dreams become the bridge. I guide clients in using dreamwork as a portal for self-understanding, healing trauma, and uncovering the deeper layers of their subconscious, helping them access insights that often go unspoken in waking life.
Ultimately, I help people realign with their truth and from that place, build lives that are purposeful, creative, and spiritually connected.
What truly sets me apart is that everything I offer is rooted in lived experience. I’ve been walking this path not just professionally, but personally living through the teachings, rituals, and practices I now guide others through. My expertise is both expansive and deeply authentic because I’ve tested and refined these tools in my own life with powerful results.
Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all approach, I adapt what I share to align with each client’s unique energy, intentions, and needs. Every session is intuitive, personalized, and grounded in presence.
Yet perhaps most importantly, I don’t position myself as the source of answers. I guide from the belief that everything my clients seek, that being clarity, healing, connection to the divine and so forth, already exists within them. My role is to hold space, offer insight and practices that will assist them with reconnecting to that inner well of wisdom. This is where true transformation begins.
I’m most proud of my unwavering devotion to my spiritual path and living a life that reflects my deepest passions and values. From a young age, I knew I wasn’t here just to survive or go through the motions. I used to say after college, “I’m not here to pay bills and die.” That became my inner mantra during difficult moments, especially when I found myself questioning my choices or facing external pressure to conform.
For years, my parents would gently, and sometimes persistently urge me to get a “real” job, even offering help to secure one. I know their intentions were rooted in care, but also in fear and limiting beliefs. Although I was raised with those same narratives, I never gave in. It wasn’t easy, but I chose to trust my inner guidance over outside expectations.
Staying true to this path, even when it’s been challenging or uncertain is something I’m deeply proud of. I continue to commit to my growth, to my healing, and to sharing my passion with others. That devotion is what has allowed my work to evolve into something both purposeful and impactful.
At the heart of my work is a belief that life becomes truly meaningful when we follow the call of the soul. My brand is built on values of authenticity, alignment, creative expression, and inner trust. I view passion as sacred, pleasure as a spiritual compass, and self-knowledge as the first step toward real transformation.
Everything I share with my clients, whether through astrology, dreamwork, or mentorship, comes from lived experience. I only teach what I’ve practiced, and I only recommend tools I’ve tested in my own healing. My guidance is never about giving answers or imposing truth, it’s about helping you return to your own inner wisdom, with honesty, compassion, and curiosity.
I hold space for deep transformation that unfolds in divine timing. I honor each client’s journey as unique, and I’m deeply present with those I work with. I’m mindful not to take on more than I can support, because being energetically available and aligned is important to me.
Above all, I want my clients to know that I walk beside them not above them. I am not here to lead from ego, but to share what I’ve learned through navigating similar energy, challenges, and desires. My intention is always to activate empowerment, not dependency, and to create a space where liberation, joy, and purpose can thrive.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
Yes, I think for many people, especially those who prioritize traditional stability, it can be difficult to understand why someone would take what seems like a risk to follow their passion. From the outside, it may have looked like I was sacrificing financial security or certainty. And I’ll admit, there were times I felt that fear myself.
Yet I’ve always known deep in my being, that the freedom to live a life rooted in passion, purpose, and creative expression is worth everything. I knew that even if it was hard at first, the payoff would come. That is the ability to create my own schedule, shape my own path, and never feel like I’m “working” in the traditional sense. That kind of freedom and fulfillment simply can’t be measured in conventional terms.
I wouldn’t have it any other way. My journey has taught me that abundance flows when we align with what we love and that’s a truth I live by.

Can you open up about a time when you had a really close call with the business?
I had a pivotal moment in my business that felt like a near-death experience. I began to question whether turning my passion into a business had dulled the spark that first lit it. The routines I’d built started to feel stagnant, and I noticed a shift. My energy was off, and my audience could feel it. Bookings began to slow, and I found myself in a space of doubt and disconnection.
The deeper challenge came from within. It took some time to realize this was a sign that I was evolving and that the way I expressed and shared my work needed to evolve too. I was being called to expand my offerings in a more soul-aligned way, specifically by incorporating dreamwork, which had become an essential part of my own growth and healing.
The moment I allowed myself to explore this new direction it all shifted. Inspiration returned, creativity flowed again, and my business began to thrive in a way that felt fresh and alive. It was a reminder that the business is a living extension of my own soul’s journey and when I honor that, everything else aligns.
