Umi, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about how you went about setting up your own practice and if you have any advice for professionals who might be considering starting their own?

Umi Pl, licensed injector at Burhani Laser Med Spa, a well established premier med spa located in Townelake, Cypress, Tx. We are well established here in the North around Townelake, Creekstone Office Condos, Cypress Tx. Patient satisfaction for me was always number one. I always wanted to be in the med spa skincare industry. I knew what I wanted to do even though my parents wished for me to become a Doctor. I couldn’t be happier with the decision I made for my life with the skincare industry. Spreading out my knowledge and educating others to a proper approach to health and beauty is my utmost passion. My friendly and energetic personality complements my high standards for patient care, which certainly makes a great name to the spa.

Working as a Medical injector, RN, I certainly strive my best in providing the best results possible to every client. After getting into the Korean world of cosmetics, we have definitely gotten some driven results,

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

I have learnt it the hard way, but I have definately learnt. Donot process any refunds on products and services SOLD! Clients love getting free treatments. They will do anything to get freebies. They will blame you even for things you have not done, starting from reviews to BBB to lawyer letters. They will do anything to scare you.

We as business owners, need to put our foot down, and very politely mention no refunds on any services, especially if product is already inside the skin, or if the product has already been taken home. If they need to move with a complaint, they can. We cant hold anyone. But we know as a medspa, we provide the best, God does the rest. Letting a client know that you fear from inside, they know the weakness. Thats the last thing you want to do is get scared and process a refund.

The best way to make sure your safe, is to have all your insurances on hand, and your mal practice insurace.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

The best way to build clientele is social media. You can do alot via social media. Clients want to see what you have, they want to see new treatments, new technology. We at Burhani Laser are always bringing in new stuff.
