We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tyson Brawley. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tyson below.
Alright, Tyson thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about a time you helped a customer really get an amazing result through their work with you.
One of our recent success stories comes from our client Avid 4 Adventure. Avid assembles numerous outdoor adventures for children ages 5-17 within eight states.
The biggest struggle Avid was facing was creating a better way for customers to find what camps and adventures were available as they expanded to more states. Goozmo worked with the team at Avid to develop the Camp Finder. The Camp Finder allows customers to narrow down the numerous adventures Avid hosts each year, from location, and age of a child, to camp types. Creating this simple tunnel and having it available on all site pages in the exact location drastically improved the overall customer experience. At the end of the project, Avid expanded the number of adventures and camp types for customers, as Avid grew from 4 states to 8 during their 2021 camp launch.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
It all started in 1997 when I built my first HTML website with a dial-up modem and a text editor. Three years later, at the age of 20, I started Goozmo, tho the name was Goochose Interactive. I built a platform for Artists to develop and manage their own websites. This platform was named Goozmo, a play on words – Goochose = Goo, and Gizmo = zmo… From a marketing standpoint, no one could pronounce or spell Goochose, so we quickly changed the company name to Goozmo. This was my first marketing/branding lesson, which I refer to today. My mom is an artist, and I grew up traveling the country with her. Naturally, it felt like targeting the artist niche was the right thing to do.
Goozmo has always been in the marketing realm, but I didn’t realize it until 2010. Digital Marketing didn’t have an industry during the 2000s, but Goozmo got thrown into the Information Technology industry because computers were involved. I realized what we were doing, in addition to building websites, was brand building… which essentially was telling the story of a business/organization. I quickly realized this was my passion, and we jumped into the Marketing industry, which finally felt right.

Creating online experiences to tell a brand’s story is what our specialty is. A brand is more than a logo. A brand is an entire experience that you feel – from a digital experience to a physical one, from a website to an immersive interactive experience with a tangible product. This is the core philosophy of what Goozmo represents. We create these experiences.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source we have had with new clients is word of mouth from our numerous successful customers. We strive to make sure our customers come out at the end of the project proud and advocate for Goozmo. With such a competitive market, I believe a strong, happy customer base has been the key to Goozmo.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
At the end of the project, if the customer continues to allow Goozmo to support their digital marketing brand. We work with the customer directly and follow up monthly to discuss new goals and updates to the site or other digital platforms. This allows us to stay in front of the customer and continue further work with the customer. This constant communication also creates brand loyalty and makes customers more willing to share with others and suggest Goozmo.
