Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Syncere . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Syncere, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today The first dollar you earn is always exciting – it’s like the start of a new chapter and so we’d love to hear about the first time you sold or generated revenue from your creative work?
When I first came out on the music scene I was hungry to get myself out there. I wanted more exposure and I knew that the only way to make that happen is to put yourself in front of the people. I performed in my first show and from that point on my hunger raged even more. Because of my hard work ethic and drive I was present tickets to open up for a few local celeb Tampa rappers and I was able to make $150 profit off of those ticket sales and I also had those same people supporting me when the time came for it during the concert. This truly felt amazing and it showed me that I was able to really earn money from my music if I hustled hard.
Syncere, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Getting into the music industry was a choice I made. I was introduced to music at a young age and grew up playing in church and singing in the choir. My passion for music only grew as I got older and when I seen that there were young music stars who looked like me I knew it was possible to get myself to that level. Covid 19 pandemic is when I decided to go full fledged into music as this gave me so much time to work on my song writing and other musical skills.
It’s important to sell yourself as an artist that’s why I do offer my singing services for Birthday parties, special occasions, amongst others so that way everyone can enjoy.. I also do music education for other artist where I can show you how to understand a beat contract from an artist stand point, BMI registration and the ways to get paid from all of these sources. I also have my own clothing brand which is specific to my genre of music . Im an open book really all you have to do is just ask me.
When people listen to my music I want them to forget about their day and be reminded of that special day they got married, their first date, or maybe even the first time they’ve made love.. when people think Syncere this is what I envision them feeling. The difference between the kind of Artist I am from the rest of the world is I’m a realist. I make my music based off of my life situations or people’s situation around me who are willing to share their stories with me. After all music is in fact story telling at its core. whether the story is fact or fiction people want you to take them to a place where they have never been before. As an artist that is my duty to my fans.
So far I’ve accomplished a lot in just a little amount of time that I have been on the music scene. I can say that I am proud of the accomplishments I have seen like being a published artist, winning showcases, being interviewed by big city podcast, having my first 2 songs do over 5K streams and being played on live radio. Some of these accomplishments may seem small to others but it means the world to me. I want to leave my fans and any up coming Artist with a piece of advice. Stay true to who you are and stay your path. Don’t let any one or anything stop you from your purpose. And lastly hard work can always beat talent. Work hard at it and you can be anything you want it be in the words of Nas..
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is simple. I want to provide my family and myself with generational wealth. It above all besides the material aspects I want to give people real to less music that they can play at their weddings or funerals or celebrations years from now. To me this accomplishment is far greater than any amount of money the world could offer. Once you win people’s hearts you’ve won the world.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
I think in our current society Artist are overlooked because people don’t care to share support. Support is free and it doesn’t cost a thing to support someone. As I’ve heard many people say a real friend will support you in all that you do. And that is what society is missing. We are missing the people who are our friends and family. If that friend or family member shared the same support that they showed the celebrity, who doesn’t even know them, the world would be a much better place and people would have more exposure to wider audiences.
