We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tyseanna Walton. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tyseanna below.
Hi Tyseanna, thanks for joining us today. We’ve love to hear an interesting investment story – what was one of the best or worst investments you’ve made? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
I started out doing real estate part-time when I first became licensed in August 2021. I was working in the corporate industry at Blue across Blue Shield of Georgia. I had been there for almost 5 years. Being a believer in Christ and knowing where I come from and where I wanted to be in life and with my business, I knew I needed to invest more time and focus to my business. So I took a leap of faith to leave my 9-5 and marry my dreams as a full time entrepreneur and Real estate agent. It has been the greatest decision I have ever made. I put God first in my business as He is first in my life.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a Columbus native; a graduate of Carver High School and a proud graduate of Albany State University, where I obtained my bachelor’s in healthcare management. I’m a mother of 3, my oldest child being my daughter Londyn, who was born a stillborn. My middle child and first son, Eric II and youngest son, Brayden. I enjoy watching sports, absolutely love running track, track is life and love playing basketball. I’m a former track athlete, so I enjoy working out to release stress and it’s just refreshing. I love shopping, love trying different foods and spending time with my kids.
I’m a former US Army Mechanic and Operation Enduring Freedom veteran with a passion for helping people! I’ve always had a passion for helping others and a heart to give back. I enlisted in the military as just a junior in high school and served for 12 years. I deployed to Afghanistan and served stateside at Fort Benning, Fort McClellan, and Fort McCoy.
The experiences I had while serving in the Army instilled in me the discipline it takes to trust the process, focus on what’s at hand and then what the future could bring. So, when I decided to separate from the Army, I wanted to make sure I could utilize that to continue to serve my community in the best way possible. With the level of hard work and dedication I put into everything I do; I strive to give nothing less than the best. Whether it be homeownership for a first-time homebuyer or selling a home to relocate, I wanted to create a learning and joyous experience where they not only get the pleasure of finding their dream home but are educated while going through the process as well.
One of the most life changing roles of my life was serving in the military. I had the pleasure of meeting a lot of great people on that journey that were from all over the world and different walks of life. I am grateful to still have such great friendships and connections with them. What better way to serve them & the people of my Community and pay it forward than to assist with their home buying and selling experiences. I’ve had the opportunity to accomplish so much in such a short period of time and have overcome many obstacles along the way.
I make the job look easy because I don’t take the challenges and struggles as an obstacle to stop me but an opportunity to grow and learn. Working with me has many perks. I make what others call a stressful process smooth sailing, you are educated, 1000% work ethic from me, build rapport with my clients based on my honesty and openness which earns their trust.
I’m client focused and results driven, so whether you’re thinking of buying or selling, I hope that you consider trusting me as your professional real estate agent. It makes me happy knowing that I have been able to help several families “Bring their Dreams Home” and hope that I can do the same for you!
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I built my audience on social media with consistency, learning what my audience likes to see and just trying different techniques and strategies to reach people outside my local area. I had a meeting with my cousin Kirsten King, owner of KKO Marketing who told me people buy into the person before they buy into the brand and that allowed me to look at building my presence on social media in another aspect. I started going live more so people could see what I was doing, my day to day life as a realtor and work life. My advice to those starting to build is consistency, Stay focused and post something. There’s always someone watching and everything doesn’t have to be perfect. People like to see a little bit of everything so give them some personality, educational information, inspirational or motivational and just be YOU!
Have you ever had to pivot?
Everyone sees change as a bad thing but I find that change is good. It may take some adjustment but it will be fine. There came a time where I had to pivot in business of transitioning from one brokerage to another. It was a tough move but with a strong support system and my faith in God, I took the redirection as God pushing me towards something bigger and greater. It was time for my path to change and the road I was on would no longer lead me to fulfilling my purpose in life. Pivots are necessary in life because although it is considered a change in direction, your vision remains the same.
