We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful TYS Podcast . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with TYS below.
TYS, appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Tys Podcast came together by one of our host, Vino. It was originally named Talk Yo Sh!t Radio but to sound a little more professional, we changed the name. But of course it’s always going to be Talk Yo Sh!t. The idea just came to Vino because of his love for listening to podcasts and decided to run with it and create his own. He then asked our other host, YaBoyAnt, if he was interested in being the other host and of course he accepted. After that, all that had to be done was to get the logo made, find a studio to record and get a lineup of special guests to interview. Once all that was done, we were ready to get started.

TYS, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
We started in the industry pretty much just like a lot of other people did but we started the show when Covid recently hit in 2020. But to answer the question about getting to know us and who we are, TYS is more then just a podcast where you can come and talk sh!t. It’s more of a platform where you can come, promote your business, talk about life or goals you may have, relationship stuff, just about anything. We like to keep up with pop culture as well and what’s going on in the world. Our main goal now is to try and build our audience and gain more sponsorships so we can start doing events around our community. But aside from all that, we had a lot of ups and downs since the beginning when we started. About 4 months into doing the show, our host Vino had to step away from the show for personal reasons but, the show didn’t stop there. That’s when we introduced the new host, El Compa Mando. He was a great edition to the show and brought another level of energy as well. Months went by and everything was going great, but unfortunately El Compa Mando had to step away from the show as well. But timing is everything and when he left, Vino was able to get back on the show. From then on the show kept growing and now we were able to bring in our third host, Christine. She brought more to the show as well since now we were able to get a women’s opinion on a lot of stuff we did. As of right now the show is going great. We are now on Spotify, Apple Podcast and YouTube.
How did you build your audience on social media?
In all honesty we are still in the process of building our audience on social media. What we have been doing is being more consistent/active on social media. We have this thing that we do where we shotgun Trulys seltzer for every episode. We became pretty known for doing that so on events that we do, everyone wants to do it with us. We are building our audience by just doing that, polls about certain things going on in the world and everything. I think our advice to someone that is starting is just to stay active on social media. Continue to promote you business, find something you can do that would relate to your business, create content and start sharing it with everyone.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think what helped us was just being consistent. We knew a few other podcast that either started before us or after us and are now not recording anything because they either just got too busy or just didn’t care too much about it. We also built the reputation with shotgunning as well. We stayed consistent with that and now everyone knows us as the “Shotgun Kings”
