We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tyrone Bachman . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tyrone below.
Tyrone , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
In my opinion success is when you push yourself to be excellent spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally and financially. Your biggest opponent in life is you. Striving to be excellent in your relationship with God, your family and within yourself is the foundation of success. In order to achieve these objectives you have to find balance in these areas of your life by properly managing your time to each one.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Tyrone Bachman and I go by Ty The Master Barber and I’m from Johnson City, TN. I worked as a Director in the Television Broadcast industry for fifteen years before becoming a Master Barber in the hair industry. I currently have twelve years of experience as a Barber. In my career in the hair and beauty industry I’ve worked, managed, general managed and owned barbershops. I currently work as a barber in the TV and Film industry and just got accepted into the Local 798 I.A.T.S.E Union. As a successful Master Barber I provide my clients excellent customer service, excellent conversation, excellent haircuts and I make sure that I’m consistent all these areas of my business. My motto is, “In order to elevate you must Level Up.” Level Up Studios is my brand and in order to Level Up, you have to Level Up in all facets of your life: Spiritually, Mentally, Physically, Emotionally and Financially. By doing this you will be equipped to Level Up in your relationship with God, your family, yourself, your co workers and your community, which is the recipe for success. With a servitude mindset you will be able to accomplish these things and not only be Blessed but also be a Blessing.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Your reputation is a reflection of your character, your integrity and your Spirit. When you operate in genuine LOVE people will respect you and support you and your dreams. After you have established a foundation of trust and love with the people that God places in your life then your skills, gifts and talents will be notice. I always say that people don’t care what you know, until they know that you care.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
How I personally grew and maintained my clientele is simple. I treated my profession as a business. Make a mission statement for your business. Come up with a slogan for your business. Create four pillars that your business stands on. Make your business an LLC. Pay taxes on your business. And most importantly give your business over to God and pray over your business daily. Never get comfortable and always continue to elevate your business. Always remember that you are in the service business so make sure that you have a servitude mindset so that you can properly serve your clients. The recipe that I follow to grow and maintain my clientele is to provide my clients with excellent customer service, excellent conversation, excellent haircuts and be consistent all these areas.
