We recently connected with Tyron Woods and have shared our conversation below.
Tyron, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
Founder: [Tyron Woods]
I’m originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and I moved to Atlanta in 2018 to build the future I always imagined for myself. My entrepreneurial journey actually began during winter break of my first year at Bethune-Cookman University. With nothing but a vacuum, a passion for cars, and a dream of financial freedom, I launched my first detailing company in a Winn-Dixie parking lot — a brand that would later become known as Smart Wash.
While earning my Bachelor’s in Accounting, I detailed cars between classes and on weekends — serving staff, students, and the surrounding community. That side hustle helped me pay my way through college and even allowed me to hire fellow students so they could earn too. It taught me that business isn’t just about making money — it’s about providing opportunity.
After graduation, I moved to Atlanta to start my career in accounting, but it wasn’t long before I realized that my real calling was entrepreneurship. So I bet on myself. I stepped away from the comfort of a corporate job to pursue my business full-time — and that decision changed everything. I built a team, invested in equipment, and turned a college hustle into a growing, reputable brand.
Today, that journey is known as WeAuto Detailing — Atlanta’s trusted mobile detailing company. We offer professional, convenient, and high-quality auto care designed for busy people who want their vehicle to look and feel its best. No waiting rooms. No inconvenience. Just top-tier detailing delivered directly to our customers’ doors.
But we’re just getting started.
Our mission is to become the #1 mobile detailing service in Georgia, expand our team across the state, and continue providing opportunities for others — the same way entrepreneurship opened doors for me.
From a grocery store parking lot…
to an Atlanta-based service brand impacting families, customers, and contractors…
this journey is far from over.
And we’re excited for what’s next.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Conversations about M&A are often focused on multibillion dollar transactions – but M&A can be an important part of a small or medium business owner’s journey. We’d love to hear about your experience with selling businesses.
One of the biggest pivots in my entrepreneurial journey came when I was considering selling my business. At the time, I thought the best path forward was to pass the torch and move on to a new chapter. I was deep into conversations with a potential buyer, imagining what it would feel like to have a clean exit after years of building. But at the very last moment — the deal fell through.
It was a tough moment. I had paused growth, shifted my focus, and positioned the business to transition. Suddenly, I was left unsure of the next move. Instead of letting the setback stop me, I decided to pivot. I applied for a full-time job in Atlanta in my field — accounting — to stabilize my personal finances and rebuild my strategy from a higher level as a business owner.
Looking back, getting that job was one of the best decisions I could have made.
The shift allowed me to step back from working in the business and start working on the business. It gave me the space to look at WeAuto Detailing through a strategic lens — improving our branding, building better systems, investing in automation, and strengthening our contractor model. I now had a salary to cover my personal obligations, so I could stop making emotional decisions just to survive month to month.
What I thought was the end of my entrepreneurial journey was really the turning point that allowed me to scale with clarity.
The deal falling through didn’t close a door — it opened my eyes. I didn’t lose the business.
I gained the perspective to grow it the right way.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
