We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tyrell Taylor a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tyrell, thanks for joining us today. In our experience, overnight success is usually the result of years of hard work laying the foundation for success, but unfortunately, it’s exactly this part of the story that most of the media ignores. So, we’d appreciate if you could open up about your growth story and the nitty, gritty details that went into scaling up.
One of the major key points to scaling any business is building your team. Each team member comes with a batch of skills in areas that you’d lack or just don’t have the capacity to conduct such activity yourself. I quicker identified areas that I could use help and went out and found someone. Starting with my VA (Virtual Assistant); Pauline. She’s the bottom line of my business and handles day-to-day marketing and brand awareness. Despite many hats, her title essentially is simply, our best at Marketing Strategist.
Also, my Business Development representative; Jada comes with a skillset of quickly connecting with people. Whether it be via phone or in person. She’s used her skillset to help me continually get in front of new clients offline.
Lastly, my business partner; Sharnita. We are the same realtors with a conventional career as well. Shar helps co-listing homes for sale, showings and we truly have each others backs and best interests.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My love for real estate stems back from when I were a kid playing the sims on PlayStation or PC. Designing my own homes in a digital world creating the initial interest and love for architecture! My step brother at the time worked as a wholesaler and on the weekends I would hang bandit signs with him throughout New Jersey. Upon graduating high school, I took a job as a front desk concierge working in luxury high rise buildings and again, the love for architecture and being around real estate agents, managers, and development added more fuel to my spark of interest. Shortly after obtaining my real estate license and landing a role as a leasing agent led me eventually into being an Assistant Manager to a Multi-Site Property Manager of a Billion dollar corporation! I helped spearhead the lease up phase of 6 class A luxury apartment communities throughout Philadelphia while selling real estate on the side. Discipline, resilience, and motivation brought me to my most proud and successful moments. I am most proud of the growth that I’ve been able to quick attain in under a decade. Financially a goal of six figures just isn’t a thing. The sky is the limit. And in this business, the harder you work, the more you listen and find mentors, the more successful you’ll be.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
My most effective strategy to grow my clientele has been a combination of attending events, connecting with meaningful people, surrounding myself in a room of sharks while being a fly on the wall and being the quickest to respond to a lead. All of my clients can reach me directly at 267.442.8451 between 8AM-8PM Monday – Sunday.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I heavily rely on the 33 touch campaign to keep in touch and ensure brand awareness and loyalty is met. The 33 Touch Campaign is the systematized approach to stay in touch with your database over the course of one year. The concept comes from The Millionaire Real Estate Agent book by Gary Keller. From holidays to birthdays and some just because reasons to reach out has always helped me get a referral or new information from someone who is looking to lease, buy or sell real estate. To be top of mind and first in heart, this always works the best for me!
