We recently connected with Tyrell Clarke and have shared our conversation below.
Tyrell, appreciate you joining us today. Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
As of now I manage my own social media accounts. From ideation, to editing, to posting and engaging, I manage the whole process. I have not hired a team or company, but that is something that I am open to in the future.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Hello, everyone! My name is Tyrell Clarke. I am a multi-faceted media enthusiast curating my own collection of executive projects, all while documenting the blueprint of my music journey. My love for music and video production, among many other things, led to the creation of TRENDS Studios – The Reliable Empire of New Designs and Sounds.
TRENDS Studios is a production empire currently operating in graphic animation, music production, and video production and editing.
In my free time when I am not producing music, or working on a project, you can find me hanging with friends & family, sharpening my production crafts, and playing video games.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I think a lesson I had to unlearn is prioritizing generating sales. Of course sales are important, however, focusing too hard on a sale may cause you to miss out on a positive, mutually beneficial [business] relationship.
Starting a business, of course all I was looking for is to generate sales and grow the business. But, I feel while that is important, It is also important to spend time growing your skill set. As I’ve grown in my business, being intentional about sharpening my skill set has been just as fruitful as generating sales.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of clients for the business has been both social media and word of mouth.
Social media is its own beast. From organic engagement to paid social, the opportunity to have your business displayed in front of a new user seems virtually endless. Not to mention all of the algorithm boosts – wether its creating your posts 100% native in the app, or using prioritized media types like reels.
That being said, word of mouth just has a certain stamp that comes with it. In my own experience, I typically work in more of a collaborated effort with some of my word of mouth clients. This is because word of mouth clients typically come from someone within my circle. I may get introduced to an artist directly in a studio session and we might cook up right there on the spot. Or, one of my closer friends may connect me with a client and we already have something mutual to kickstart the creativity.
