We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tyree Traylor. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tyree below.
Hi Tyree, thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump back to the first dollar you earned as a creative? What can you share with us about how it happened?
My first principle photoshoot with LinkedIn changed my perspective on things. Creating an invoice for the first time, having a driver, meeting with the creative director and president, all those things in a way were eye opening coming from the inner city of Los Angeles I didn’t grow up with those luxuries or even the resources to know it’s possible.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Growing up in the Compton and Hawthorne areas on LA county I didn’t know a lot was possible. I started off making music but not putting my all into it. I went to Wilberforce University for business management, didn’t finish and came back to Los Angeles from Ohio. I still made music but i felt I needed to incorporate more into myself to make a career. I found a background acting agency and ended up on HBO’s Winning Time Lakers Show season 1 episode 9. From that 70s look, I ended up on Paramount Plus’s The Offer episode 3 & 4. From there I revived my life and found a love into acting. I then attended the Ruskin School of Acting for a year , Killians workshop for commercial classes for 4 weeks and etc. Now I am getting my film degree at Long Beach City College while having a career making meaningful work, all before I transfer to a Cal State. Acting and modeling has put me in a different space but there is definitely more to come !

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Being able to inspire people; your peers, the next generation, parents, everyone.
It’s a beautiful thing to be able to have a positive impact in others lives.

Have you ever had to pivot?
When I came back from Ohio to Los Angeles. In a city saturated with musical artist I needed to find a way to seperate myself. Not only did I find that in acting, I fell in love with the process and it changed my life mentally and physically.
