We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tyre Patterson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Tyre thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Was there an experience or lesson you learned at a previous job that’s benefited your career afterwards?

The most important lesson/experience we have learned from working at other rehabilitation clinics is that humans are not dollar signs, but actually humans. Everyone should and must be treated fairly with respect no matter if they have health insurance or not. We understand the business side of things, however, the greater good is to provide quality healthcare for ALL.

Dynamic Duo PT+ LLC is a private outpatient physical and occupational therapy clinic in West Palm Beach, Florida. Dr. Angela (Angie) Mason (DPT,OTR/L) and Dr. Tyre Patterson (DPT) are joint owners. We developed a sisterhood while attending graduate school in St. Augustine, FL. Over 8 years, we travelled around the country setting up therapy platforms and operations for well-established practices while emphasizing a healthier and more active lifestyle.

Dynamic Duo PT + LLC, was founded in 2020, however, in full operation April 26, 2022 due to the covid pandemic. We are dedicated to influence and positively impact our community by focusing on self-care and groundbreaking therapy in order to improve our clientele’s quality of life. That means as the detectives of the musculoskeletal system, we provide a comprehensive evaluation coupled with a tailored plan of care specific to our patients. We pride ourselves in providing our clients with one on one treatment sessions with the best experience in their time of pain and discomfort.

How’d you meet your business partner?

Dr Angie, DPT, OTR/L and Dr. Tyre, DPT met in PT school at the University of St. Augustine in 2011 and soon became friends. My (Dr. Tyre) story of truth is that Dr. Angie bullied me in to becoming her friend the first day of class. The actual truth is that, the more time we spent together through studying, going on adventures, and celebrating birthdays, we found out that we had a lot in common. Our friendship grew stronger as we traveled as the “Dynamic Duo” for over 8 years providing therapy services to those who were in need. In all actuality, our friendship is more like a sisterhood. She is my little sister I never knew that I needed. I thank God daily for our friendship and now partnership as business owners.

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?

I am confident in speaking for the both of us, that we would choose the same profession. We love our career based on helping others live a better quality of life. It pleases us to hear and see the positive changes of our patients with the capability of living their lives with less to no pain. We often say, “who wants to live a life with pain and dysfunction? No one.”
