Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tyrah Starke. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tyrah , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
When I graduated college in 2017, I started getting closer to God more and more, and that changed how I went about doing things. I always grew up in church and knowing the Lord, but it’s something about when you experience God for yourself and you want to be more like Him. I was trying to fit in with different social groups and dating the wrong men and I was just so tired of it. I had my fun, but at some point, you stop and realize that this isn’t the path that God wants you to take. I started maturing in my faith and learning more about relationship vs. religion.
I was always creating content as a model but as I matured in Christ, I really wanted to share my journey. I started posting more about Jesus, the Bible, my testimonies, etc but in a fun way. I wanted to show that just because you are a Christian doesn’t mean you have to live a boring life. There is joy in the word.
Once I started just being open about my journey, I saw that people were relating to what I was posting and even seeking advice. I’m so happy I decided to just post my authentic self instead of trying to keep up with whats “popular”.

Tyrah , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Tyrah Starke and I am a content creator/faith influencer, host, pageant coach … pretty much I do a lot of things! I got into content creating very early on as a model in my late teen years into early 20s. Over the years, my content has gone from beauty and modeling to now sharing my life as a Christian, wife and new mommy.
I also have my own business as a pageant coach and director from my years of experience with pageantry. I am working on my social media management business in which my mission is to help small business owners navigate the social media world that is now a must-have when it comes to business growth and success.
I am also an author. I released my memoir and self help book, “Bouncing Back to Me: Overcoming Jealousy, Depression and More” in 2018 about overcoming toxic relationships.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal is to create feel-good content that shares the love of Christ. Oftentimes I think people believe that if you are a Christian then you have it all together or you have to appear a certain way, when that is simply not true. I love to show my followers that building your relationship with God is more important than “acting religious”. Many people are trying to walk around all perfect when we are all in need of grace and mercy. None of us have it all together. I struggle with things all the time and I am still chosen.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I think the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is having a community that has followed you through the different seasons of your life. I have followers who followed me when I first released my book, healing from past relationships, to now being married to my husband with our new baby. It’s been a journey but I pray when people see me they see a woman who has been through a lot but has overcome by the grace of God.
