We recently connected with Tyneka Pack and have shared our conversation below.
Tyneka, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
Had me as their daughter! Hah! In all seriousness, my parents have given me the opportunity to explore things I truly wanted to do. Whether it was joining a figure skating team or getting into bodybuilding, I was never limited in what I wanted to do. I also believe it takes a village. Along with my parents, my grandmother and godfather played a huge role in my life and my career.
With all of them, I never felt any lack of support. I never knew what it felt like to not have someone in your corner rooting for you through everything. Everything I did, every event I had, and every moment of celebration was full of love and support. Knowing that I would always have their encouragement made it easier when I decided to start my own business.

Tyneka, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Yes, of course! I am Tyneka Pack, the Founder & Head Trainer of ImPackt Fitness. We take out the guesswork but busy women who desire a simple fitness and nutrition journey. I remember 14 years ago, being a super shy college student, looking for a sales and marketing internship. I ended up getting an internship with an insurance company as a sales agent to get my feet wet. Well, it took a lot to get out of my shell (I did mention I was shy, right?). But that experience brought many high moments but also low moments where I had to start looking for my next move. During that time, I started going to the gym and fell in love with fitness and the process of seeing my body change right before my eyes. That journey led me to compete in bodybuilding shows where I also gained confidence in myself.
Shortly after that, a good friend of mine asked me to help her lose weight for a procedure she was getting done. I was very hesitant because I, myself, needed a coach so how could I help her?! She wasn’t the first to suggest that I go down the personal trainer path but she was the one who truly believed in me and encouraged me to do it. She trusted me to give her the results she was looking for. Eventually, I got my certification and helped her meet her goal! I enjoyed the process and helping her was the boost of confidence I needed to get started.
Over 5 years later, here we are! We focus on taking out the guesswork for busy women who desire a simple fitness and nutrition journey. I help my clients prioritize self-care by taking care of their health first. That way we can show up as our best selves in our business, career, household, and friendships.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Building a community. Throughout my years of training, I have always tried to build a community among my clients. Not only during training but spending time together outside of the gym. Doing different things such as bowling, putt-putt, and axe throwing. This might not be feasible for all trainers (depending if they are training in-person or online) but it has made a world of difference for me. Not only does this allow my clients to create friendships with each other, but has allowed me to work with these women for years.
I still train clients today who started at the very beginning of my business journey. Those are the ones who truly rock with you, believe in you, and support you like no other. You will always need those types of clients. Mine have helped me grow in so many ways and I am truly grateful.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
This has changed over the years. In the beginning, I got about 95% of my clients from word of mouth. My first client was a good friend of mine who helped me market my business. Not only because of people seeing her results but her referring some of her clients (she is a hair stylist). From there, those referrals referred others and I grew pretty quickly from there. Of course, I started training people that I personally knew as well.
Fast forward to now, I have been growing from social media. This is free advertising and when use correctly, it can reach thousands of people! From posting transformations, workout videos, exercise education reels, and nutrition content, I was able to grow my clientele.
