We recently connected with Tyllah-Chanel Cornelio and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Tyllah-Chanel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about how you got your first non-friend, non-family client. Paint the picture for us so we can feel the same excitement you felt on that day.
Getting my first official client as The Marketing Bully happened in December of 2021. Although I’ve been in business for going on 6 years, I rebranded in December to introduce a new brand persona and “mascot”.
With this rebrand, I completely changed how I created content, engaged with my audience and my workflows. With these changes, getting this first client was easy because they fell in love with my content, helpful advice and podcast before we ever formally met. When we met via a consultation, they told me they binged every podcast episode and blog I’d shared, they were convinced I could help them. We’re still working together to on multiple projects, so it’s grown into a beautiful friendship.
I’d say what helped land this client was creating a customer profile, identifying problems they had and then creating content to help solve those problems with simple solutions. I believe that with these simple steps, selling online gets easier because you stop chasing leads and they start being excited to work with you.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a Entrepreneur, marketing professionals and content strategist of almost 6 years in Desoto, Texas. Currently the Founder and CEO of Touched By Ty, The Marketing Bully is my brands persona that most fall in love with online.
To date, I have amassed an online audience of over 25,000 active community members via Twitter, TikTok, my Blog & Podcast. My passion for helping others, has led me to self publish multiple books, planners and create courses that all teach small business owners how to take advantage of digital marketing.
Believe it or not, this all kind of happened organically. People always complimented me on my marketing style and asked for help with their brand and vision. Eventually, it blossomed into a consulting service that helps with marketing, content strategy and creating an unforgettable digital footprint.
I think what sets me apart from others is my creativity, it’s something my clients compliment me on every single day. I’ve been creative for as long as I can remember as a child taking music and arts lessons every year. While I am a “underdog”, i never let my past hardships define where I am going. I choose to be happy and prosper every single day, because I’ve learned life goes on whether I want it to or not.
Currently, I am most proud of my tenacity and perseverance. My desire for a better tomorrow makes everything possible in this lifetime. I will never give up, I believe that even want is worth fighting for every single day.
The main thing I want people to know is that I’m not a quirky upbeat person naturally, nor do I pretend to be in my content. I am very calm and monotone, I enjoy the feeling of relaxation so I try to be relaxed every single day.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my social media presence through sharing educational content via blogging and twitter threads, with funny relatable content in between. In the beginning I probably shared 2-3 threads a week and 5-7 blogs a month. This helped drive website traffic, grow my email list and acquire new business consistently. I also went viral quite a few times for my helpful and relatable content, sometimes getting over 20 million organic twitter impressions in a month, although usually I average 3-5 million twee5 impressions organically.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I think the most rewarding thing about being a creator is helping people and making great money. I never had a job making this type of money or being this free and happy. There are pros and cons to everything, but I’d rather be here doing what I love and creating content that impacts people than anything. I’ve had people tell me my content helps them make $2,000 in 48 hours, sell out their products, grow their followers, land new jobs and more. There is no better feeling, truthfully.
