Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tyler Winick. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Tyler, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?

I started producing music at 16 and became obsessed. I then went to college at 19 and now hold a BAS in sound engineering. I then got a job on The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus as an engineer and producer for 6 years. After that, I was a freelance videographer for years because the music industry wasn’t what I thought it was. I then became a bit lost and started my journey of personal work.

All that to say, the whole time I was chasing something external when what I wanted lay within. That’s what my music project Tahüm is about – doing the inner work to choose your path from love.

With 20+ years in the music industry as a producer and engineer, and 10 years dedicated to sobriety, spiritual, psychological, and shamanic tools, Tyler has harnessed his life’s journey to craft a transformative musical project.

Tahüm’s music is a fusion of electronic, R&B, and world bass, guiding listeners on extraordinary sonic journeys of metamorphosis. Each composition is meticulously curated with intention and purpose, weaving personal experiences into a unique soundscape that transcends traditional boundaries.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

The mission is to use love as fuel to propel me, sharing that which is meaningful to me and that always has been. It’s to inspire others to see their intrinsic worth and capacity to live a life of truth and meaning, driven by love.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

I can share the crucible moment in my life that inspired me to go to college and then how after accomplishing the goal I wanted in college, it wasn’t what I thought and how that led to another big shift in my life and ultimately led to my project being born. Essentially using authenticity and adaptability to live with accountability to myself.
