We were lucky to catch up with Tyler Sipe recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tyler, thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I think that, in order to become successful, someone has to first define what success means to them. Some people find success in their careers and through their financial well-being, while others find success through relationships built or lives impacted. To some, success is found through aspiring to be greater than what they are, while others find success through letting go. There are a lot of different ways to find success or become successful, but it starts with what you value as successful first.
Tyler, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have been in the sales and relationship driven industry for as long as I can remember, so moving into a very people-oriented industry was something that just came natural to me. Whether that’s providing people the right faces or tools to get tasks done or provide coordination skills and managerial skills on my behalf to complete whatever is put in front of me. Away from the day to day career is always my career as a creative. I’ve always enjoyed the ability to express myself from a creative standpoint and I truly believe my unashamed nature is what sets me apart. Ridicule will come no matter what we do, so why not just enjoy the ride and express ourselves through social media and/or human interaction the way we would like to?
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy to me has always been the one that scares people the most: cold interaction. Whether that’s meeting people at stores, conventions, job sites, cold calls, or anything in between. It’s the best strategy not only because it exposes new people to your product or your brand, but also because it helps you the individual develop the proper tools to face adversity.
One of the worst things anyone can do when trying to grow their customer base is to hide from rejection. All that means is you’re also too scared to find approval, because for every us you find, there are 100 NO’s you had to get past to find it.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I’d say the best way is to not only create and keep creating until you can’t anymore, but to also engage your audience. Whether that’s 1 person or 1 million people watching, give them a reason to support you and help them feel recognized for their support along the way.
