We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tyler Rudd. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tyler below.
Tyler , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
Taking a risk is one of the most important things we as human beings are meant to do. Yet, it is the most terrifying thought. I grew up in a Baptist Church. The entire Bible talks about people being tested by God as he puts them on a journey, thus testing their faith in him. Now, as an adult, I realize not many Christians are willing to walk with God on their journeys. People these days always say to never “Get Comfortable” and stay at a certain level that is not our full potential. Lucky for me, I was never comfortable. I believe I was born for something different from my bloodline’s previous generations. I was born a creative. My first ever conscious memory is being surrounded by clouds. How many people can say that, truthfully? I made my first “Big Boy” decision in 2018 when I enrolled in a film school in Burbank, CA. It’s something I have always felt drawn to do but I didn’t know anyone in the filmmaking industry. I was in an environment that thought pursuing anything within entertainment was a waste of time if I did not already have a reliable connection to open those doors for me. However, I realized that to have those connections, I needed to put myself out into that world to meet these people. So, I did. I was mainly afraid of being in debt. However, I stuck to the plan and went for it (my dreams and goals). Los Angeles is a melting pot of opportunity and self-discovery. So much so, that you can get consumed if you’re not careful. I ended up dropping out of film school after the first year because it got too expensive, and I felt I was no longer learning anything new. I knew the student loans would be there but that didn’t seem so scary, anymore. Taking a chance is like jumping into a swimming pool. You know the water is cold. Why dip a toe, then a finger, and overthink how cold the water is? Once you jump in, the water is fine and now you’re having fun.

Tyler , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Well, I have been a writer since I can remember. That is what I identify as most. What I just started doing is writing for other people. I am in the process of making this an OFFICIAL business. However, say you are a filmmaker, and you want to create a project. You are not the best writer, and you can’t find one, either. You can reach out to me through my business email [email protected] or my social media accounts and place an order.
For example, you are looking to create a short film about a fairy princess who is seeking revenge on a group of evil aliens that destroyed her kingdom. You also want to include a hidden message of “Don’t judge a book by its cover”. Or you may even request a little romance into the mix as well. Either way, the more random, the better.
We would discuss the filming details such as budget, locations, etc., and BOOM, the order is placed (Price varies by the length of script) and you will have a script to your liking. Of course, revisions are included. I only ask that I get my writing credits once the project is complete. After finalizing the draft, I get the script legally copywritten to guarantee my recognition.
Speaking of writing, I am writing a book. I am finally fulfilling my author goals. It is a graphic novel based in a fictional town in Mississippi. It is a supernatural romance that prioritizes feeling over meaning. The blurred line between reality and a dream. I am very excited about finishing it and getting it out into the world. To stay up to date with that, definitely follow me on social media and YouTube.
Speaking of social media, I am a Youtuber, now! I have been an influencer for TikTok for about 3 years and now I have expanded my online brand. I have developed a healthy habit of posting on YouTube about self-improvement and Self-love. Many people are eager to become Youtubers and don’t know how to “Be Natural” on camera. I had the same problem. I honestly did not know who the hell I was talking to or what my “Niche” was. I talk to my teenage self. I pretend that 18-year-old Tyler is sitting in front of me and that I am the big brother he always wanted. It’s okay if you don’t have a niche, yet. Just always know who you are talking to in your videos.
As for modeling, I am still a model. However, I did take a small hiatus after the summer to focus on my other creative interests. I have my eye on a modeling agency in Atlanta, GA that I am considering representation from. Stay tuned for that!
If I sound all over the place, that is a good thing. It is okay to let your creative juices flow freely. Organize as you go, I always say!

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
It is funny that you ask me this. I am planning to create a YouTube video discussing this very topic. Social media has grown so much throughout the years. I often consider myself born ‘Before my time’ because so many things about Gen Z represent who I was as a teenager and unfortunately had to hide (my fashion, sexuality, creative interests, etc.). As a teenager (in the early 2010’s) I wanted so badly to be a full-time Youtuber. This was the golden age of being a Youtuber and I knew I could be successful at it. However, it was not as easy as it is today to create a video and post it online. Now, I currently just use my iPhone, a ring light, a mobile video editor, and I post it.
Back then, the process was more intimidating, and I did not have encouragement from others to even get serious about it. Now, there are teenagers and even younger kids who have full-time jobs on social media platforms. There are even more creative-based options in college to major in such as “Social Media Marketing” or “Entrepreneurship.” When I went to college, the options were bare. The closest thing to creative options was “Theatre” which is great for people whose calling is Theatre, but not necessarily for the people whose calling is something else creative.
Ultimately, it just wasn’t meant for me to become a teenage Youtuber. I was supposed to get a Psychology degree in college. I was supposed to become a content creator in my mid to late 20’s. I am learning to trust life’s process. I can’t sweat the things I can’t change.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
Well, NFTs are something I don’t care to invest in. However, I sometimes feel as if I am missing out if I don’t. As someone within Modeling and entertainment, and especially as someone who frequents the Los Angeles “scene’, I doubt that I know anyone who does not partake in NFTs. I also feel like all the “Beautiful People” are into NFTs. It’s always models or Beauty/Fitness influencers that hype up NFTs. Ultimately, I am a firm believer that whatever I am meant to do, will naturally unfold. I am not attracted to the NFT path, at all (despite the influence of its popularity). Even if I did get into NFTs and become successful. Who’s to say I would be happy? I have looked into it many times and it is never appealing to me.
We, as people, face moments in life where we have to ask ourselves if we are being original or, are we following trends. I stay original and open to change. Most importantly, I stay true to myself.
