We recently connected with Tyler Johnson and have shared our conversation below.

Tyler, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

My mission is to change the way people think and see life around their job/career.

My background is in law enforcement. I spent about a decade in this field trying to make a difference. I one day woke up to my niece, whom I raise telling me that I was never at home, and that I was always working. It was at this moment that I looked at Luna, and realized she was almost three years old. I had only a vague memory of her being a baby. I realized that I prioritized my workplace over my own family, and I truly was nonexistent at home. My wife and Luna had learned to live without me. This was devastating to me.

A couple days after coming to this realization, I was contacted by someone and presented an opportunity that would completely change my life. I became an Independant Business Owner with ACN (American Communications Network). The largest direct seller of home and business essential services in the world! Shortly after partnering with ACN, they added healthcare to what we were able to provide to people and businesses. Little did I know that this would be the turning point in my life. I had transitioned from law enforcement to making sure I could provide the best healthcare to people. I started waking up with a purpose and on a mission to disrupt this broken industry. I had partnered with a nonprofit, ethics-based organization that was going to change the way people see and feel about healthcare.

I have since left law enforcement and do this full time and it has allowed me time freedom to be home with my family and raise my niece the right way.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My background was in law enforcement. I spent nearly decade in this field with the understanding that in 20-25 years I would retire and be able to enjoy life. After being told by my wife and niece that they had learned to live without me due to me working so much, I had to change. I was presented with an opportunity of a lifetime, and I took it! From law enforcement to direct sales. A foreign world to me that I knew nothing about. When I realized that I wouldn’t have to sell a single product, I was intrigued. When I further realized that what I would be offering people, are things they already pay for anyways, I was really intrigued. Home and Business essential services that everyone needed, used, and couldn’t live without (healthcare, electricity, internet, mobile phones, security, travel, identity theft protection, payment processing). I realized that what I was offering, people truly couldn’t live without. I mean who doesn’t have a cell phone? Who doesn’t need healthcare?

Due to our completely broken healthcare system, I took it upon myself to focus in this area and reach as many people as I possibly could. The nonprofit, ethic-based company that partnered with ACN is truly changing the way people see and feel about healthcare. I now get to be a part of really changing lives for families all over the United States, providing an alternative to healthcare that feels better for families. What sets us aside, is that we have made healthcare completely transparent. This has never been done before in this industry.

The thing that makes me the proudest with what I do daily, is the fact that I get to change families’ lives, while being at home with mine.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.

I became and Independent Business Owner with ACN while still active in my law enforcement career. I used it to supplement my income. I wanted to be home more with my family, so I was hoping this would bring in enough that I wouldn’t have to keep picking up overtime shifts at my police department. When I realized that the more effort I put into it, the more return I had, I went all in. I had never understood the concept of residual income before. My whole life I was trading all my time for money. Nobody had ever showed me a residual income model. When I had 100% belief in myself and ACN, it changed the way I started seeing the world.

Since beginning my journey with ACN, I have helped hundreds of families with their healthcare and with several other things we offer.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?

I have had the blessing of growing my team and the people I work with on a day-to-day basis. The number one thing I would say in leading a team is to put them first and the rest will fall into place. Care more about your teams’ victories than your own.
