Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tyler-Ann. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tyler-Ann, appreciate you joining us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later?
I feel like I’ve still started really young, I mean I am 18, but the crazy thing, especially about these up and coming generations, is that these creative type of jobs are becoming more and more accessible. I mean I know so many young and talented photographers, filmmakers, and it’s just a matter of how soon you post your work, how you post it, how everything is shared. It can be so easy for people to go viral nowadays and others not so much. I think I wish I took social media more seriously, because it is so crazy how it can change peoples lives.
Tyler-Ann, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a freelance digital photographer! I enjoy doing a lot of editorial and cinematic work. I love collaborating with other creatives and artists, especially like-minded ones! I work with all of my clients individually, I wanna create a safe and fun environment for everybody, I want to help execute visions and ideas, as well as collaborations. I love being able to share ideas and help everything come to life!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I think for me it’s being able to execute a vision so beautifully! Being able to see things put together as they should! It’s a really exciting and motivating feeling! Just seeing the smiles on clients faces after giving them just a preview of the raw images, can be the best. It’s funny too when they follow up with the “that’s me!?” comment. I think people can be scared of a camera, which I get, so being able to connect with clients and get that image they didn’t even realize could exist of them or at all, makes me happy.
Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Peerspace has been a gem! Also LinkedIn! I think I was always, I mean I still can get worried about costs of shoots! Peerspace has been such a nice tool to find mini studios or big studios, and at an affordable price too!
