Alright, Tykenya thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Getting that first client is always an exciting milestone. Can you talk to us about how you got your first customer who wasn’t a friend, family, or acquaintance?

I made a business instagram account and started posting my products, posting pictures wearing my products and posted my products everyday even if I didn’t get likes then I started getting messages on instagram asking when am I available

My name is Ty’kenya Jones . I’m a young women from West Baltimore. I started making wigs after going through one of the hardest things in my life . Lost my bestfriend April 2020 and started my business to stay busy and keep me focused . I never thought about making wigs til one day I just made one and enjoyed making it and I love dying hair so I kept it going . It made me happy

How did you build your audience on social media?

I posted daily . 4-5 times a day at the most active times , posted a few times on my story , interact ( like , comment and share others post ) , mostly use meaningful hashtags when starting a business patience is the key . starting a business you have to be patient and know that some days you won’t get a sale and you can’t get discouraged about it . even if you don’t get any likes , keep posting , somebody will see it , use hashtags ( meaningful hashtags ) to drive people to your page
