Tye, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Taking a risk on something that is under estimated as a career has proven to be the best decision I’ve ever made. The doubt was there, but so were my prayers to make it work. Here it is 4.5 years later I’m opening doors for others meanwhile continuing to be a resource, pillar in my community, and asset to others. Being a past recipient of public assistance it feels great to mentor others to make a career out of just doing daily day to day tasks.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Becoming a notary happened shortly after the passing of my father. It was recommended by my probate attorney which in away became my mentor. Although I wasn’t practicing law I saw other client needs that extended beyond my notarial duties, but also filled a much needed gap. Offering various services, various hours of availability, and collaborating with other community resources began to make my business an essential asset for clients. Providing digital services even opened the doors to assist international and clients in other states. Each client interaction is tailored to meet their specific needs so no 2 clients are ever the same. As, a mentor I teach other notaries how to expand their businesses and make passive income literally just doing everyday functions. Our services are not restricted by borders or language as we are available in a wide variety of areas and languages. We offer Fiduciary Care Services, Mobile and Digital Notary, Wedding Officiant Services, home inspections, Apostille Services, and personal assistant to business owners.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
My only regret in my profession is not starting sooner than later, but excited that I did. It’s been the best decision I’ve made for my family, my career, my health, and overall even my clients. It speaks volumes when my clients consider me a part of their routine. Being active in my community development and events has also given my company a stand out name and reputation. I’m working now with young adults to show all the possibilities and opportunities available in the world of notary services.
Can you open up about how you managed the initial funding?
The best part is the investment is just under a 100.00 (depending on the state) & is good for four years. With a minimum of literally 6 general notary work appointment your commission has paid for itself. Most clients have their own documents in hand so you’re basically verifying their ID, watch them sign, log your journey, collect payment, and job complete. I call it “Money In Minutes!” Resources are available with proper research and just completing the requirements to qualify for various funding.
